I dont have a tensioner tool, just going by feel (10mm) up and down movement on the belt until I start the motor then will get it dialed in better. Here are a few more pictures.

Jesus dude. Is that truck brand new or are you just OCD?

anyway. The pulley on your alternator does look bigger than what I have. Maybe compare it to your old alternator and report back. Because now I’m interested to know.

I don’t have a good picture but you can see my alternator pulley looks much smaller

Haha! It's the OCD. Did the timing belt and water pump replacement and ended up doing much more. Good eye on the alternator wheel. The stock alternator pulley is 2 3/8" in diameter while the new alternators pulley is 1/8" bigger at 2.5". That would account for it being off a bit but wouldn't think it would make that much of a difference. I'm currently pulling off the belt to compare to the Toyota belt length.

You mentioned the alternator pulley do you mean the SC pulley? Mine is just the original pulley that came with the SC. But comparing the alternator pulleys there is 1/8" difference from the original to the 105 amp alternator

I was referring to the alternator pulley. Yours look way bigger that. Maybe mine is super small for some reason. I’ll have to measure it tomorrow.

Looking at other pictures across the net I think mines just small. Maybe that’s why I’ve had slip issues for ever now. If you look at my picture close you can see the nut almost take up the entire ID.

    Wow. That’s super frustrating.

These are some old pictures I had taken before I disassemled it. The red mark is where the alternator was positioned before loosening the belt. The green mark is where the position is now after assembly with the belt really tight now. Both the Gates and Toyota belts are the same length after stretching them tight side by side. Maybe Im making too big of a deal out of it but cant figure out why its so off in the alternator tension slot.

I may have figured it out. I first set the alternator tensioner in the original position from before I disassembled it. Then I routed the belt accordingly and pulled counterclockwise on the lower SC tensioner/pulley until it basically bottomed out and was able to slip the belt over the upper SC pulley. The change that was made is that the lower SC pulley is basically positioned more verticle or more counterclockwise than before giving me the ability to position the alternator tensioner more central in the groove.

I run 1 oz of cleanboost maxx super concentrate and 6 ounces of boostane... with my 91 octane. makes the truck rip... pricey though

Thanks I’ll check them out! Really looking for a supplement when I can’t get 91 but these look promising

yes I run the urd 7th injector kit. been running it over a year. Everything is good still. The truck feels slow when I don't run it. I gauge the performance on this steep 12 mile long hill by my house and how fast I can pull it full throttle in 4th gear. without the boostane and cleanboost the truck is about 15 mph slower because of detonation

its expensive, I told myself I'd only run it sometimes but I work so hard and my commute to work on the curvy canyon mtn roads is the best part of myday. rippin those roads is so much fun I run it every fill up now.

Mileage question. Anyone try disconnecting the plug on their seventh injector to save fuel when going over multiple steep grades off-road? Just a thought I had and haven’t tried it but seems like it likes to put the fuel on when heading up hill and off-road. Not so worried when on highway but out in the back country fuel can become an issue.

I don't believe it's adding fuel in that situation. Open loop around 3k+ rpm is where I think it starts spraying with the stock tune. Been awhile since I looked into it but the 7th only starts to add fuel when you really get on the throttle. Unless you've customized it to behave differently

I wondered about the rpm but when I watch the afr it drops as soon as I start up hill and boost starts to build. Seems independent of the RPM. Maybe that’s not a good gage of the 7th adding fuel but it seems to make sense. I haven’t done any mods to it
