Yes I am. My rotor coating was shot and it was more time efficient to buy the new re-manufactured ones. I need to be able to drive for thanksgiving and spending time with my family for thanksgiving/Christmas is worth the extra it takes vs sending my current rotors off to get a new coating. Doing the rebuild is pretty easy if you have access to a press.

When did you order the rotor pack? Did they give you an ETA? I ordered one on September 20 and was told delivery would take 8 weeks. Now its been pushed back another ~4 weeks.

Be warned, my rebuild that I paid him HSL 1500.00 failed and all his work is having to be redone and fixed 13 months later at a cost of 2k by Jon Bond.
HSL put in new rotors and gears and coating all that failed and the incorrect rotor pack seals that leaked into the rotor areas and had to add oil every 5k miles to the snout.

There have been many other people posting about his poor quality work that started about a year ago

Bout two weeks ago. They said they’d be able to get it sent just after thanksgiving. I’ll probably be on the phone with them tomorrow.
Thats a bummer. Well I’ve got more issues than when I started now. After letting the sleeve retainer and gasket maker set overnight to cure, I put the nosecone back on. Now I’m getting the same sound of a bearing AND NOW I’m also hearing the rotors. Very loudly. Not having a good time with this right now.

Ive heard you can run a light weight gear oil like the brand redline. if you absolutely had to use motor oil I'd run a ow-16

take a few hours and pull the supercharger off for your thanksgiving drive or run a shorter belt taking the supercharger pulley out of the alternator loop and drive it on the bypass. that rotor noise will start to eat into the case real soon...charger1.jpg

Yeah I’m pulling the rotors out to inspect. I’ve heard that some of the other versions of the MP62 supercharger can run Mobil 1 Synthetic 10w30 for short periods of time. If all else fails I have the normal alternator belt. I can only hear the rotor noise when the engines running. If I spin it by hand I can’t feel/hear anything out of the ordinary with it. This things killing me. I might cancel the parts from HSL and see what jon bonds turn around time is for a rebuild. I don’t have the old intake manifold otherwise I’d already be working on getting it sent to them.

Looks about the same as when I pulled it the first time. I had it running long enough to mark up wherever it was making contact. I want to check the bearings to make sure the outer races aren’t spinning at all somehow.

All the bearings are seated nicely. Can’t say for sure about the needle bearings in the back as I don’t wanna stick my fingers in them and get stuff in them but they seemed firmly set the first time. Oil was clean this time around and I ran it for about 30 minutes trying to go get parts. I’m not sure what the cause of the rotor noise was, but I might try taking off the rest of the coating on the edges as its mostly already peeled off. Would it be a bad idea to polish the entire rotor? I’m not worried about heat efficiency or loosing boost with having the coating missing.

Jon Bonds turn around is a good month, regardless, but he inspects EVERY single part for wear and replaces every part if needed and a spread sheet of everything.

High speed lad I got nothing besides saying new rotors and gears and 3 months for a rebuild time.
Their work quality with my supercharger was alarmingly poor and seems that this is happening to many others like me.
Rotor Coating all peeling off after a year, the two bypass O rings were silicones in place instead of get the correct O rings, the pulley key was not replaced either and had damage, bypass bears were shot and bypass valve was bent needing a new one.
I don’t think they have access to the correct rotor pack seal either and that’s why mine were leaking.

Jon Bonds comment to me was that my supercharger is one of the worst examples they have had to fix from another rebuilds work.
But they will be able to fix everything=2000.00

Speaking of bad workmanship, I had to port my brand-new charger from Magnuson. The casting was one of the shittiest Ive ever seen. It looked like a gravel driveway inside. Like they cast it and didn't smooth anything out. my throttlebody opening was nowhere near round or even oval. I had to open it up near a 1/4 inch just to get it to match the gasket. Im not just being picky I almost sent it back.

I just finished getting my truck back running with the supercharger.Didn't get the methanol kit on it yet. but It is quick... my engine bay is a work in progress. I had some fun with some paint and still need to clean up some wiring.. so the paint is annodizing paint so its see-thru. I'm waiting for my colored radiator hose/ hose kit and supercharger badges
