did that sensor stop the check engine light? I am having that problem right now on my Truck. I have the shorty Jba headers and am also catless. I tried using the urd sensor thing that plugs into the rear 02 sensor but it hasn't stopped it from tossing the generic 02 light. If Im running the truck hard and driving like I stole it The truck won't throw a code but if i'm cruising slow or idling at a light it will throw the code. It also has brand new 02 sensors and also has the air fuel sensor and the trucks afr's look good

I'll have to see what the code is tomorrow. All it says though is something about generic. nothing about low/high voltage or faults.

There are several codes related to O2 sensor functions, some are for the upstream sensor and some are for the rear one. And how you 'fix' them depends on which one(s) they are. Let's see which one you are getting.

its po136 for the rear 02 sensor. Its brand new. I'm thinking its an exhaust leak. The fit of the JBA headers is terrible and they never stay tight.Pretty sure thats it. this weekend I tightened everything up on the exhaust and it ran so much better for a few hours.I'm betting I already have an exhaust leak again.

Did you say you have no CATs? I would expect the P0420 code if that were the case. FWIW, the URD sensor defeat system only applies to the P0420 code.

I am pretty sure that our ECUs do not rely on any data or feedback from the downstream sensor for tuning. I think your P0136 code is coming from the upstream O2 sensor.

I ended up having an exhaust leak after I fixed that it stopped throwing the code.

Anyone running the GM knock sensors, did it do anything for you beyond cure a CEL? I believe my truck is pulling timing and I don't know why - a battery reset gives noticeably more power and response. No active CEL. Chasing bad fuel economy.
Would like to try reducing knock sensitivity but the GM KS seems like an unpopular mod and doesn't come well recommended, but it's my only bet before diving into a Haltech, which will have to wait until at least tax refund season.

Crank knock sensor? Why go with a GM one?

I know the Toyota one is $$$, but why not consider an aftermarket Denso? It's what I just did.

    Not a crank sensor...
The GMs are apparently less sensitive or looking for a different frequency to detect knock so they allow more timing advance. Hard to find technical info on it though and admittedly it's a bit sketchy

Thanks, yes it smokes the new Tacoma, Tundra (turbo v6 not sure yet ) and 4 runners all day long easily.
Was before haltech and was running like shit that day, was way too rich with the methanol.
TRX has 700hp! 8 speed transmission and 90,000.00 being sold now as used.
Highly doubtful you will ever see one with 700,000 miles tho :))
Soo glad those stock ECU days and tune issues are behind me :).
Haltech is definitely a game changer for more power and a perfect tune.

Anyone know what the rough lead times are on a new Magnuson unit? I know they were out of rotor packs for awhile and waiting on a shipment from Eaton.

This right here sums it up. Once you have the Haltech, you can move on to the next upgrade. Unlike the URD 7th kit where you are chasing something that isn’t possible.

I wasted a lot of time on the URD 7th, I’m just glad I was able to sell it for a good price when I got rid of it.

supercharged 2" pulley 6 puck clutch
I realized after I asked about the Haltech that when it showed under you stereo that it was in open loop. Like I commented in that video, The Tacoma is way cooler and way more reliable than a super heavy dodge with 700hp. Everyone I know with dodges have so many problems with cheaply made parts falling apart. your right none of those dodges will make it as long as your taco, and no way that platform could be worked daily like your truck. In my eyes The only good dodges were the ones with cummins paired with the manual trans. The Haltech is on my bucket list. So tired of my Truck driving and shifting perfect only when the stars align.
