3.4L supercharger

I believe it does touch or is very very tight. Not sure if it was designed to rest on that part of the bracket or use the upper bolt to support it. I will check when I leave work. However, I bet it’s slotted at the top to accommodate small variances from vehicle to vehicle. That way the bracket isn’t pulling down on the nose cone just to get the bolts through.

 

Ok thanks, I definitely like this support, I would think with the curve was put there for a reason for possibly adding support, cuz there would be no reason for that added section at the top, but who knows.
Regardless this support will definitely take stress off the supercharger.
The belt tensioner is like

INSTALLATION TENSION 120 lbs
SUGGESTED TENSION RANGES 60-80 lbs

 

Please take measurements of the bracket and post here so we can make clones!

 

Actually there is a small gap all the way around.

 

I like the idea of support. The new setup doesn’t have it.

 

I’ve been doing 6.4 PSI BTW on stock pulley and I think I can do 7. My AFR is 11.5 to 12. ECU still adjusting so it’s running better and better.

 

When my PCV hose crimped up and was clamped on both ends, it tore a little. vacuum leak. Toyota said the hose was old and clamped up on both ends in a way not allowing flexibility when the supercharger moves. So when the supercharger moves, it put pressure on that hose. So I'm thinking this bracket may control supercharger movement somewhat.

 

I took a pic of the bracket on my truck. This probably doesn’t help much but here it is.

It’s got to be more than the 1 bolt at the bottom. I could of sworn there were 2? Maybe I’m wrong.

 

There are 2 before the bracket is modified.

 

Your ECU will adjust,
The boost will vary a little with the weather conditions.

For you Cooler days you will get more boost 6.5,

Cooler wet foggy day or rain maybe you will see 7.

Hot days maybe 6.

If you drive up to the pass 10,000 feet maybe you will be at 4.5-5.

Guessing because each truck is a little different
This is how altitude effects a supercharger unlike a turbo.

A turbo compensates for altitude so a turbo if it has 8 pounds of boost at sea level it will
also have 8 pounds at 10,000 feet too.

 

Right on. I’m 200 miles into it after the reset of the ECU and the AFR went from 11.5 to 12 in boost. It’s all still adjusting. I can see it in the AFR. It’s getting better and better. Truck is running better and better.

 

Is there a way not to reset the ECU and install the methanol? I’m really really hating that 3-500 miles of the truck running like crap.

 

You don’t have to reset the ECU when you do the methonal or the supercharger or MAF.

BUT if you want peak performance the ECU should be reset so the computer has the most up to date info on how to address each mod you do to your engine,
Any engine mod will benefit from a reset

 

ok I see. It’s part of what has to be done. I should have just went all in.
