3.4L supercharger

35lbf and 18lbf is what the a/c bracket to block and compressor to bracket torque to. That should be good.

 

Still have not gotten it back yet, he said if I did 25 or 50 would be a lot cheaper than 2 or 3.

I had him do round cuts on the top and bottom so it will look more like a factory piece tho
and had to have it sandblasted because of the old paint and surface rust.
Hopefully I know tomorrow

 

Worst case, please trace it on some cardboard or paper before you install it and post some photos!

The base of the bracket that attaches to the block has a pressed step back with a 90 degree bend in the steel and then a metal spacer welded.

If it wasn’t for this it would be easy to just make one.

 

Yeah, I saw that step in the earlier photos. I wish a flat piece with a washer on the back up near the supercharger would work, but that the bend allows most of the plate to be closer to the rear of the vehicle is to clear the belt.

 

How far does it step back?

 

I was wrong 12 on top bolt 18 on bottom. From the install manual.

 

I think this a good idea to support the snout. I was going to fab one up but checked and my TRD Supercharger 2015 era. does not have the upper bolt hole machined into it.

I see you’re running the 2.2 pulley. I have that on standby with stock pulley currently installed. Did you upgrade the belt? Did you upgrade the fuel system? How awesome is it?

I am curious about that cross brace. Does it connect the two shock towers? Any pictures of how it is mounted?

 

Stock belt, 7th injector. 34s so I was hoping for more but I'm happy. Headers and Methanol in the future.

 

Cross brace is mounted to the shock towers through the fenders. Steve at Dirt Designs did the install.

 

Do you have any wider shots that show that secondary hoop? Where does the bottom of that mount?

 

The secondary hoop is just a TC secondary shock hoop. The cross brace was custom.

 

Is that a fiberglass hood? I wonder if the OEM metal one would clear the tube as is.

 

It is a glass hood. The reinforcing brace on the stock would have had to be notched but will work..they have done it many times.

 

So I have the threaded hole available and it’s the 1st gen TRD and the menber I got the bracket
had the black TRD supercharger and there was a support hole for the bracket.

So I guess some models have it and some don’t depending when they were made.



Looks like the Magnuson does not have the hole but has the stub there sticking out if someone wanted to tap and die a bolt hole.

 

Seems that I'll have to fix the new supercharger in the mill when I get it and face that nub, mill a hole and tap it.

 

Got the bracket back today,

Bracket was cut and both ends were nicely rounded to look like a factory bracket.

Good news and bad news tho,

If I wanted a few made identical to the one I had cut it will cost 100.00 a pop.
Has to be setup on a jig and laser cut.
I paid 100.00 for my used bracket with the bolts and metal tube support tube
plus 85.00 to sandblast and cut the line and round the edges.
So I’m into the prototype for 185.00

But if I wanted 25 orders made it would cost around guessing 40.00 -50.00 tax or so just for the bracket which would be a deal.
So would I be able to find 25 buyers at 75.00 a bracket plus shipping to make it worth my time?
I need to put a few coats of paint and see how it looks installed
