Do you think the boom sling does a good job with this?

Called zoom sling and they said that they use a 2.2k resistor to filter on the crank signals.

    Thoughts?

Should be fine. There’s a thread on here that explains and makes recommendations for that.

Yeah, I read the whole thing

My eyes hurt when I was done

He recommends a 10K Crank and Cam I believe

Boom slang does a 2.2 K on the crank only and nothing on the cam

I would think if they’re charging $499 for this thing , it works

Honestly I don’t know much about resistors or how to size one. Ask that question in that thread.

We need an international ECU. Slap that in and boom. Something that doesnt care about 14.7 all the time.

it’s called a stand-alone. It’s not legal for street use. And It cost thousands to get running properly.

Go ahead and put an ECU from a diesel Hilux onto your truck. Let us know how it goes...

I found a deal better than any Black Friday deal, but I'm waiting for a better paying job first... I may just jump on it anyway and eat more rice and beans.

For me, one ride in the 97 and that was it. Maybe a ride under the bridge will make up your mind :)

I took a ride with John. I'd love a supercharger, but I'm still reading up, learning and planning my build out before even bolting one on. My engine and trans have only 35k on them since a full rebuild from the core, so I've got a solid platform to push a lot more out of.

I do live in an emissions county and don't see that changing anytime soon, so whatever I do, I don't want to have to remove/re-tune every year when I get tested.

I also do road trips where I go between sea level and >10k feet, so I'm planning out how I will deal with that on the road (laptop behind the rear seat to pull out and load a tune onto when I get to Utah, when I get to Mexico, etc).

tune for safety at sea level for travel. With this setup you aren’t leaving much behind.

That's the thing... I don't know if my engine is one of the "ping happy" ones that will need special care at sea level, or if I'll be fine with a smaller pulley and meth. Then there's the issue of dealing with 87 octane fuel in Baja ...

The trucks that don’t need timing retard etc. are rare. Even TRD specs premium as necessary. Methanol injection will not Boost your octane to 93 in that situation.

methanol has an octane of 110 but it will not boost octane to 110 mixed with water and gas. At best a few points depending on mixture and now much you’re spraying.

Yep. So that’s one thing I need to figure out... remove the belt and reflash a tune to zero out when in Baja if stuck with 87 gas? Maybe...
