    I haven't seen a chart that shows RPM vs Boost. Anyone have one?

    @barnaby you may be better served with putting the $3000+ into gears to handle the extra weight of those big tires.

    According to my door jamb I've got 4.10's. My 2.7 had 4.56's and I hauled an overweight 6x12 box trailer from PA to Cali and back with it. She was a tough one. 4.56's in this one would be nice for sure. Thanks for that input.

    Floyd Hill, is that the last upward punch heading east towards Denver on 70? Yeah, that's got some climb to it :). Honestly my truck handled that pretty well though. Better air. The climbs that kick me arse are the climb to the Eisenhower tunnel heading east out of Summit County, Vail Pass climb heading east and the climb up Freemont Pass (Heading towards Leadville from Copper Mtn.) They are just so sustained and if I have to slow down, the recovery is pitiful at best. Even not having to slow down, it takes the right throttle input to surf them just right. (Not drop lower than 65)

    Oh, wait, your truck has the 4 banger or v6?
    You want too supercharger a v6 or 4 banger?

    I have the v6

    Yes thats the last steep hill.

    Vail pass and Eisenhower are a cakewalk.

    I possibly could go there but thats a longer drive.

    At 10,000 feet one will lose 2 pounds of boost from Denver so definitely less power.

    So you would definitely want the smaller pulley

    I currently have a 3.4 V6. My previous truck was the 2.7. Still own but is just sitting back east at FIL's. Was just commenting on how it had better gears.

    I wouldn't want you to drive all the way out here, unless you were already making the trip, but thanks a ton.

    Stock pulley would still be better than stock (n/a), yes?

    If you're at 10,000 feet you definitely need a smaller pulley.

    I do get up to Dillon on occasion just for a mountain drive

    I Got the 3.4L stock with stock pulley. You’ll feel a big jump in torque and power in second, 3rd, 4th and 5th LOL. First gear has a lot of torque. I like to floor it instead of push on the gas lightly. It goes to open loop quick. You will have passing power. Truck will be more fun. You could drove in the fast lane and pass anytime you want. It’s not the fastest out there of course. It requires 91 octane. I get anywhere between 6.4 PSI to 7.8. But each truck is different. I’m down the street from 1997/John. If you want, I could meet both of you and you could see a stock setup and the unicorn.

    So you're still running the stock size pulley? I know you have a brick for a foot from reading the thread :D. How's your gas mileage? Straight down the toilet or somewhere in between? I have been running 91 in this truck pretty much exclusively, so that at least won't hurt anymore than it already is.

    It would be awesome to meet up with you both

    LOL. I don’t know honestly. I drive a lot. Maybe 13 MPG. I fill up a lot LOL. But hey it’s an 18 gallon tank. If I stay out of boost due to weather, I’m really sad. Seriously, if I drive normal, the gas mileage is the same I would say, which is still bad.

    Gas mileage is better than a Tundra. It’s bad when you floor it and start doing 85-90 for like 5 minutes. But it’s not straight down the toilet. It’s hard for me to lay off the gas, I love to hear the S/C. I stopped listening to the radio to. I just drive.

    FYI the black TRD is a MP62 gen4 Eaton. It has a improved inlet and outlet. The latter was a M62 Gen 3. The inlet is slight my larger and the outlet is larger with a updated shape on the black S/C

    I don’t fall flat at higher RPMs I get a bump in power around 4000rpms.

    Man I don't know if I've ever even taken my truck past 3500 RPMs lol. I need to live more dangerously I guess.
    She screams at just over 3k which is usually my sweet spot to shift. Maybe it's the headers that make it that much louder I dunno.

    I had the inlet and outlet and top section all ported. So it flows much easier than before.

    Porting the middle section is a big game changer for air flow on the 1st gen if you go that Route. You will feel a nice gain in power.

    I picked up 15 horses or so from porting it.

    I understand that. But I have to respectfully disagree on the fact that that the 2gen isn’t as good because it (supposedly) can’t be ported.

    Unless you’ve installed a 2nd gen with the same size pulley on your truck and tested you can’t say it falls flat just because the first gen did.

    I honestly don’t see why it couldn’t be ported with the right tools. You’d need a right angle CNC and a template and it could be done.

    I haven’t. I’d have to drive at least 2 hours for a dyno. Even if I did and we compared results it wouldn’t be a direct comparison without the exact same setup. Same year ECU, tire size, manual trans, gear ratio, etc.

    I guess it could, have not heard of anyone doing the top section on the black gen tho.

    I’ve driven in two new Magnuson superchargers and one on the Dyno and at the higher rpms going from a larger pulley to a smaller pulley the torque was up but not the hp so much.
    Sorry not falling completely flat. I guess maybe each situation is different for these trucks.
    After porting my supercharger My sweet spot is 4000-up, wasn’t there before that.

    Maybe yours is the same.
