I can relate with you on this. I often turn off the music so I can hear and feel what my engine's doing now. I can imagine with the impeller whine I'll be doing that even more.

Nothing like it. Don’t floor it unless you have 2500 RPMs. You will love hills in 4th if you’re doing 55. You can give it half throttle and AFR drops to 13 and then stomp the gas and it’s 11.5 to 12. Don’t run octane booster. It won’t run right. It clogs up the fuel system. I run sea foam at each fill up and it keeps the fuel system clean. Keeps it running nice. But that’s me.

There is a kick at 4K RPMs.

Tire size is a big one. And tire weight. I shed 4 pounds a tire last week going from LTs to Ps. Truck got some pep. 1st gear take off is smoother/easier. Downside is the cool factor. Ps don’t looks as good.

Dude, you are the king of overdoing everything. You don’t need to run seafoam all the time.

LOL. Yup. You can say that. I am a lil OCD on this truck for some reason. I have a problem. I can’t wait to drive it. I’m accepting work further away than I usually do to drive. I may need help. LOL

What do you guys use for an AFR gauge? Is that something that the Ultragauge can display or do I have to get a designated gauge for it?

You need a stand-alone wideband gauge. Any will work. One that can display boost is nice to have.

as said above, you need a stand alone Wideband gauge. Your scangauge will show you an AFR reading but it's not a Wideband reading and won't show you the accurate AFRs you are looking for under all conditions.

I have the AEM AFR gauge, was about $150 I think. Comes with the gauge, wiring and a Wideband O2 sensor (Bosch brand I think) that you install just before the 1st cat converter.

Icon/TC Mid travel, TRD S/C, PNP Greddy EMU, 625cc injectors, 2.2 pulley, Hayden tranny cooler, AEM wideband, TRD boost gauge.
For 01+ they have an OEM wideband and devices that can show AirFuel via OBDII would work... buuuuut, if you are using anything, be it URD, SplitSecond, AEM FIC to skew the signal to the OEM ECU for closed loop boost then an 11.8:1 partial throttle closed loop boost would look like 14.7:1 to the gauge. So like others said, you need a standalone Air Fuel gauge, and like @eon_blue mentioned, get the AEM. I have played with AEM, Innovative and some of the smaller brands (one was even local in Torrance and I talked with the dev engineer and owner, cool guys and shared my dislike of Innovative lol)--- all that said, the AEM is by far the easiest to install and JUST DANG works.

I went with the twin gauge A pillar setup for boost and AF, but now AEM and other brands make combo gauges that show you both boost and AF in one gauge. If I were doing it over again I'd keep the TRD gauge holder (it's angle is far superior than the brand X double gauge pillar I have) and just through in the AEM double gauge.

    https://www.aemelectronics.com/products/gauges/failsafe-gauges/wideband-failsafe-gauge

It even has failsafe features. Combine the failsafe feature that grounds a lead to ground with my S/C bypass mod and you have a failsafe for whenever your tune gets whacked out in boost. Dang, now I want one, wonder if there are any black Friday deals.

That’s what I’m looking for. I just want my fat ass taco to be more drivable. It’ll never be “fast”.
If I want fast I take my motorcycle for a spin. It’s a “slow” moto...0-60 in 5 seconds.

I was wondering if you had a Dyno to see if you knew where your power and torque curve is.
Typically the Trd supercharger Max’s out around 4500 rpms power and torque as it goes higher over the 4500 rpm range.
Stand alone Innovate single gauge with dual readings is what I run and is a sweet gauge.

I have the boost and AFR in the same gauge and has lots of settings.

Boost as primary or AFR as primary with the other as secondary

Below shows at WOT full boost 10.2. And AFR at 11.5 and green light shows methonal spraying

For what it's worth i just put a used 2nd gen black trd supercharger on my 2002 double cab with 209k. no issues besides one spark plug was crazy hard to get out when swapping them to the correct ones. I was sure the head was junk but it all worked out in the end and runs great. However I did pick the entire sc kit up even with a trd boost gauge for $350!!

This is so awesome. You've gotta be proud. I love how he just glosses over the 3rd gen and gushes over your truck :D.

Also, showed the wife the vid, and said that's the truck down front range that has 610k and a charger. She seemed rather impressed, which is good for me and my acquisition of a charger :D.

45k people saw this. That means the value of our truck is blue book plus 2k and going. I was starting to calm down on the gas. Then saw the intro to the video... and I’m half a tank down in a couple short trips. Oh oh.

LOL he barely commented on the 3rd gen. “Here would have a hood scoop decal and here we have a functional hood scoop”. LOL
