    Replaced upstream stock wideband and now have similar results, high flow fuel pump ended up be too much and run to rich in open loop 10s at 8 psi, engine flutters for a second. Moving back to stock pump, then finally really to program FIC!

    That’s not the fuel pump. Your injectors control how much fuel you’re getting, not the pump. The rest is returned back to the tank. Also, take some fuel out of the 7th. That will lean it up some.

    I’ve experienced the issue you have with flutter. Try retarding the timing in that area.

    Mine seems to do it at 60-70mph in wot only

    Don’t have s 7th, just methanol, but it’s off

    Does that sound familiar?

    You probably need to use a mixture with less methanol or a smaller nozzle. IMO small nozzles don’t work well because they bleed off when letting off boost and water pools from hitting the throttle plate. So try a leaner mixture of methanol.

    Your truck probably can’t pull enough fuel out when the methanol Kit is 100% wide open. It can really only pull 20% until the ECU freaks out. I don’t add much fuel at all and it’s conservative to what URD included on the base map. You really don’t need that much more because the stock injectors are good for 96% of the fueling.

    But I’m not even running methanol now

    Just 6 stock injectors, running rich

    I wonder if my OBDII can do that

    I’m thinking that my fuel pump is pushing too much through the regulator and through the stock injectors

    It’s not the fuel pump flowing too much.

    The regulator keeps constant fuel pressure across each injector. Any fuel that is not injected into the cylinders is returned to the fuel tank.

    If the regulator is reading too high you could run lean because less fuel is getting into the cylinders. If it’s running too low you could run rich.
    think of it like a garden hose with your finger over the end regulating the flow.


    Honestly it’s probably normal for it to run that rich. The ECU runs rich in WOT by design to protect the catalyst.

    I’m curious if your injectors are at full duty cycle and surging is a result. in that case adding fuel would help the ECU trim the duty cycle back.

    Call URD and explain the symptoms in detail and be very clear about what and when it’s happening. They will try to see you the 7th but maybe they could offer some insight to why it’s happening.

    I think I can check duty cycle on the FIC...maybe

    I haven’t messed with the FIC yet because I wanted to make sure everything else was functioning properly

    I’m going to check my trims when this is happening ( fluttering )first and see if they go negative

    Most of the time LTFT runs between 0 and +10 and STFT run between +5 and -5

    I did notice that when I switched from the stock 2.34 pulley to the URD 2.1 it did it less(more air)

    I’ll post updates

    You absolutely need to enable the closed loop enrichment. That will smooth out the transition and it’s probably where some of your hesitation is coming from.

    FIC programming

    RPM gauge on FIC reading 8000 at idle actual 750 at idle, not sure
    Load reading 12.1 when off, 6.6 when engine is on.

    AFR is good at idle 14.7

    Duty cycle on all 6 injectors is 76% at idle

    STFT 0 to 5

    LTFT and idle have risen to +17

    Try this. This is necessary with the 7th. It may be the same with the AEM.

    There should be a options pull down somewhere. Look for “engine settings” Look for “4 stroke” and “6 cylinder” change that to 2 stroke and 3 cylinder.

    I think I remember reading this in the FIC directions when I looked them up.

    the readings are all off try to find out why. Read the FIC tuning directions carefully and recheck wiring unless you bought a harness.


    Do you have a Stand-alone AFR sensor?

    If your true AFR is 14.6/7 it’s something with the AEM that wasn’t set up correctly.
