    I don't think you would have to remove the condenser, but I could be wrong - I replaced my engine without removing any AC stuff and there's a fair amount of room between the front of the engine and the condenser.

    Did you already install your dipstick relocation bracket? If you did, take that off and try torquing down the bolt again. I had a similar issue and thought the bolt stripped out, but it turned out the dipstick tube was applying enough pressure to push the tensioner bracket just enough to be off.

    Well that sounds promising. I’d rather not mess with the A/C equipment
    The dipstick was out of the way and the bolt is definitely stripped. One look at it and there’s no mistaking it!

    It is. Running a tap through it no longer removes any junk. I made sure of that before trying the new bolt

    Have to add this stat here for the supercharger guys,

    I ran a super stat 170, it failed 6 months later,
    Got a 170 from advance auto and it failed 2 months later,

    Both of these looked cheaply made.

    Just found out the Corolla OEM 170 thermostat fits the 3.4 motor, got it installed, everything's working perfectly

    Highways temps are 168-170

    Idling is 170-172

    Interesting. The thermostat temperature rating only dictates the temp that it opens at. A fully open thermostat (regardless of the temperature rating) should keep the engine operating at whatever temperature it normally operates at, right? I think I have a 10° cooler thermostat in my truck and it runs about 190° on the highway. I suspect mine may be slightly higher than some because my winch blocks a lot of airflow through the radiator.

    Been running stants for years. No issues. My 170 keeps my motor at 180-185 on hot days.

    I have a custom aluminum radiator, so it can keep the temperatures very low to the stat regardless

    Yup, the supercharger will be 20 degrees cooler with a 170 stat, win win, in summer less chance for heat soaking, more power, air will be more dense.

    Hey guys. So for the past several months i’ve been trying to figure out why my boost gauge is reading only 3 psi max. I bought the charger used and do not know if it has been rebuilt. Ive triple checked the vacuum lines, have the right TB gasket, tested the boost gauge, replaced the bypass valve and have 0 belt slippage. The truck drives completely normal throwing no codes. Would you say that the charger is just not making any more than 3 psi and needs a full rebuild? I honestly don’t know what else could need replacing/ tinkering with that would regain lost boost. 2001 3.4 black body sc.

    Do a smoke test, a vacuum leak will effect the boost output,

    Look to see if the bypass valve is fully engaged and if the vacuum is making the valve open and close completely.
