Pressed the bearing out of my dynamic tensioner today and got it replaced at a local bearing supplier.

Here's the part # for anyone that runs into the same issue.

Good to know, I bought the URD pulley like that there and less than 10,000 miles the bearing went bad,
So I went back to the OEM setup

I talked with Gadget at URD today and he said that if I was the original owner of this pulley and he could pull up my order number he would've just replaced the pulley for me free of charge. It might be worth seeing if he'll replace yours.

If not, $10 for a bearing every 10,000 miles isn't too bad... It certainly would be nicer if they would last a little longer.

Can this same bearing be used for the static tensioner?

I'm not sure, I've never owned a static tensioner.

You should be able to find the bearing part number on at least one side of the bearing. The part number on the bearing for the dynamic tensioner was on the side of the outer race.

I’m confused, are you guys talking about the bearing in the dynamic tensioner or the bearing in the pulley?

The dynamic tensioner red pulley made by URD only.

It has ears on the pulley unlike the stock tensioner pulley

Mmmm, that would be every 3 months, a better quality bearing would do it I’m sure tho

ooookay. I was confused because my dynamic tensioner has the black pulley on it. I understand now

Well maybe you could use the part number I posted to get the dimensions of the bearing and find something higher quality.

    Stuff and junk and things...
The way too soft aluminum/anodizing is usually what wears that pulley before the bearing goes bad.

FYI I also bought one a long time ago and went back to a stock pulley.

For the URD 7th injector kit, would I be okay just having a shop install the fuel pump and doing the thermostat, pulley, and ECU wiring myself? I don't think I can get the tank lowered but I feel pretty confident about the other stuff.

Why don’t you think you can lower the tank? If you’re competent enough to solder new wires into your ECU, surely you can undo a couple bolts on the gas tank!

And I've got it all back together, sounds good to me, makes ~5 lb of boost constant (I'm using a d shaped thr body gasket while the good one is in the mail.) And it sounds good, except for the idler which is yelling at me lol. Really happy to see the engine bay cleaner and spicier today. Can't believe I completely took it apart and off just to realize that the boost gauge was hooked up incorrectly from the factory. Loving the sound coming back to me from up front and the extra punch.

This is also true. I couldn’t move my bed out of the way due to the way I routed my coax cable for my CB antenna.
Pretty! That’s a clean engine bay! I wish my blower had a cool TRD logo on it

Also now wondering what afr sensor to go with, I was thinking the aem kit and eventually change the gauge? Not sure what other options there are.

So I finally got the truck out and went wheeling today. 2 hours on the highway to get to the OHV park and I noticed that my engine pings with the cruise set at 75mph while I’m going up a hill right under 2500RPM. It sounds like an aluminum can is rattling around under the hood during this situation. Making the transmission downshift seems to stop it from pinging, or just clicking off the cruise and slowing down a little also stops it. I guess I need to retard the timing a smidge, but don’t have a computer that runs Windows OS. AFR during this situation is 14.2 and boost is around 4.5psi.

During my 2 hour highway drive no slower than 70mph, I averaged 19.2mpg. Not bad!

2500 is the sweet spot for me after my 7th injector install a couple years ago. If I hit boost under 2500 RPM it will ping, so I make sure to keep my shift points (manual trans) around 3k - 3200 RPM so I don't dip under 2500 when I mash the gas pedal.

Ideally I'd prefer to have ~2200 be the sweet spot but I've managed to tweak my driving habits to make it a non-issue for the most part. Someday I might fool around with the 7th injector to get it to add fuel earlier.

On the highway pulling up a grade I have to keep it in 4th gear going 75mph, which usually has me as a steady 3100 or so RPMs which ain't good for gas mileage but it keeps my AFRs happy and no ping.

It makes sense that your experiencing it with cruise control on since it's trying to keep you in the highest gear possible at that speed. Keeping it out of overdrive in those situations is probably your best bet until you get the timing adjusted.
