I have a 07 double cab TRD. I have had it for over a year and half stock due to the dealer putting brand new tires when I bought. I am looking at the 3" ome cool kit from toytec. Just the OME coils ( I plan to get the 885), the top spacer ( for full 3"), and AAL (I thinking bout the 1.5 due to my truck being TRD with 3 leafs already). Also planning on get diff drop.

I will be mostly on the road but I am a manager at a 1500 acres tree nursery. I have a big work truck but like to take my truck around on weekend with my little boy. Need the lift for some more clearance. So I'm not jumping or doing any intense.

    The questions
    1. Does all that sound good for 3" lift to fit 33 KOs?
    2. shocks on front? For mostly road use do I really need to replace the struts? If I don't will there be any issues down the road? I was thinking about billies, if I do wat setting, I see a lot of arguing bout this.
    3. Rear shocks? I have always replaced when lifting. The billies ( I believe 486) good for what I'm doing?
    4. UCA: I have been looking at the light racing ones. Do they only help with handling and alignment? Or do the help with CV joint angles also?

Thank u in advance. All suggestions are welcome.

If you run billies with 885s keep them at the 0 setting. You could re-use your OEM shocks, they will work fine but depending on your mileage you might have to replace them anyway down the road so might as well hit 2 birds with 1 stone yes ? The 5100s for the rear are ok. I ran the ones for 1.5" of rear lift with my 2" AAL, flexed plenty and they are still fine (on another members truck currently). UCAs are for alignment purposes, I haven't heard anything about them helping with CV issues. IMO, you don't need the top plate spacers for a full 3" you could get away with the 885s by them selves and possibly won't have to dish out money for UCAs.

I'm running 885s on the front with OME shocks with a 1/4" plate to give about 2.75" of lift. I am running LR UCAs because my caster was too low. At a full 3", I would recommend that you consider UCAs. Large is correct that they don't do anything to improve CV angles, but at a full 3" I'd be surprised if you get 1* of caster.

I've got OME shocks in back with a 3 leaf progressive 1.5" AAL from Wheelers in the back (non-TSB leaf pack). Love the ride.

You will be able to fit 33s, but it will likely require some trimming in the fender. How much depends on the wheel you are running.

    An no diff drop.

So this my confusion. One person said I don't need the top plate for 3". But another says they only have 2.75 with top plate?

Also the diff drop is suppose to help with CV joint angles. Won't I be pretty maxxed out if I don't have one? Also if I decide to not put a diff drop on at first. Is that easy to add later?

Also ebashi (toytec) coils VS 885? Also I plan on a bull bar on front soon also. Not too much weight but should I consider 886 or is that too much?

    885s on a DC won't give a full 3"

I'm running the Toytec TP14 top plate. The typical Toytec kit comes with a TOP1 top plate which give about 3/4" of lift.

So 885 with the top plate will be full 3"?

Yes, 1/4" spacer on the passenger side and 1/2" spacer on the driver side will give roughly and on average 3" of lift. I say average because it can vary probably 3/8" from taco to taco.

Still unsure why you want the full 3 inches. 2.5" IMO is a lot better to wheel, the extra 1/2" causes CV issues and harder to get alignment in spec. Depending on what size tire you will have to cut regardless to stuff the tire in the well. Are you going to run 255s, 285s, 295s, 305s, 33x12.5s?

yes, and maybe a little extra. i've seem people say more. i think it often depends on how worn your stock springs are. if you are stock and your springs are sagging a half inch, then when you install 885s with a top plate it will give you a 3.5" gain over what you had initially.

or just install the OME trim packer on the driver side and put the same thickness spacer on both sides

Can u use ome trim pack on other shocks then ome. Toytec website says only with ome shocks.

Also I want 285 or 33. I am looking at kellys and BFG KOs 33. Probably 11.5 and know I need new wheels to offset. I have family with tire shop that will handle wheels and tires. My big concern figuring out the lift.

Not being a pest so the diff drop will not do anything to help with angles? Just confusing bc a lot of ppl on here talk about them being used. I know it will lower clearance but I am more concerned about bad angles of my CVs if it improvable.

Yeah, that trim packer is for OME only. You can fit 285s, but will probably have to trim a little.

And no diff drop, listen to Krimson
