Wheeler's? I'm assuming the 3-leaf AAL is now what's between the oem upper 2 leafs and the oem overload leaf?

yes. some people take the overload out some leave it in. I left it in for a little more lift and weight.

How would you describe the ride in the rear compared to the 3-leaf oem springs?

definitely more firm than stock but not bad at all and I have the hd 3 leaf. the only problem I had was after I lifted the front Im only about a half inch higher in the back and when I tow my travel trailer its lower in the back so I recently installed air bags. if your not looking to lift and are just towing now and then I would just go with air bags.

I have the standard wheelers 3 leaf with non TSB springs without the overload spring. The ride is not stiff but doesn't bottom out like it used to. The springs are still soft enough to flex easily offroad and is no problem flexing them to the bumpstop.

So the 3 leaf AAL attaches onto the stock leafs? It's similar to just the simple AAL?

@williams63 I am thinking of doing a 3-leaf progression pack with my TSB recall packs that were just installed. Noticed you installed a 3- leaf AAL with the overload. Is there an issue installing a progression pack with the TSB recall packs, while retaining the overload spring? Also if I keep the overload spring, what kind of front lift would I need to attain level or slight rake. (thinking of OME 887 which would be around 2.5 settled I think) Coils paired with 5100s.

welcome to TW. I don't have the TSB so cant really give a good answer. I know some have and will respond if they see this post. as far as the front lift?? I got 2.5" with the overload in and no TSB. I would think you would get a little more so you may want a full 3" up front. do yourself a favor search and read as much as you can. good luck and post some pics of your truck.

Had the Headstrong 3 leaf AAL which supposedly is same as the Wheeler's. Installed on 1 year old leafs replaced by the TSB and left off the overload for more flex. Great street ride with about 300 lbs worth of shell and rack in back. Got little over 1" lift without the overload but would have been 1.5" with the overloads. Have 1.5" lift in front nd this leveled the truck out. Only caution is theses are good for mid weight but without the overload leaf found they easily bottomed out with full load of 800 lbs. Have since replaced with Dakar HDs.
