    Hey,

I purchased a 3" lift from Toytech (http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Ultimate-Tacoma-lift-with-Bilstein-shocks_p_394.html) that came with the Bilstein 5100s, AALs, diff drop etc. I saw some posts saying that 33s would fit without rubbing but mine rubbed immediately.

I purchased 33x11.5 and they rubbed when I was turning (on the control arm) so I purchased the 1.25" spidertrax and installed them. They don't rub on the arms while turning but still rubbed on the front bumper and back of the front tire (picture included). I trimmed the front bumper but it still rubs in the back when turning / hitting bump when turning.

I was under the impression that they shouldn't rub. Is my only option to cut some of the back wheel well? When the Bilsteins 5100s came they were already adjusted, can they be raised anymore (should they)?

It looks like the 1.25" spacer may be a little too much. You might be able to keep it from rubbing with a slightly narrower spacer, but fine tuning that kind of thing can be tricky... especially when your tire is stuffed. So, a little more information would be handy. What is the backspace on your wheel? Are you rubbing on level ground?

Overall, it might just be easier to trim as necessary and call it a day.

Ah gothca, It's the standard taco wheels, so I'm not to sure the depth. There's no harm in cutting the back?

No mods yet that's why Im signing up to talk to yall to see what to order.
Man that sucks I'm installing my lift this weekend and I'm going with 285-75-R16 Duratrac's too. I hope to have better luck or switch to 255-85s but I imagine I'll still need to trim

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
This is why i wish people would stop saying their 33s or 285s don't rub, and with the right setup you won't rub. Anyone running 285s can easily make their tires rub, even on the street. You can go with smaller spacers and mess with the alignment and go for more caster but the easiest thing to do is just start cutting.

My 285 KM2's don't rub. But I don't wheel the Tacoma, and make sure to tell people that.

BFH the pinch weld if you haven't already.

Shouldn't have to touch the cab mounts.

I had to cut off the pinch weld, dramatically reshape the firewall, run .75" spacers and dial in as much positive camber as possible to roll the wheel forward a bit. Finally got it to stop rubbing.

If I had it to do over again, I would gone with the 255/85/16 option. Fewer headaches.

    ugh, that's not encouraging hah..

Yah I decided on 33's as I saw on the forum that it wouldn't rub... It does only rub in the back, so if I adjust to gain positive caster I might be able to save the rubbing? I'll just trim regardless to be in the clear.

    Thanks!

It took me 20 minutes to get 285/75r16s to fit. Trimmed the plastic and beat the piss out of the pinch weld at the rear of the wheel well.

i just bought my tacoma last month and found out i have 5 inch spacers in the back. i been looking around for new leaf springs that'll not break the bank on me. i plan to get a new bumper and winch to replace the stock one. its a 2000 sr5 tacoma. i dont do much hauling except 200-250 pounds of horse food on a rare occasion. and i live on a dirt road.

I used it when I went to the 33's on my Tacoma. It helped immensely, though I had to do way more trimming than the article mentioned.

Al trucks are a little bit different, some require more work than others. I would imagine that the "33's and no trimming " trucks are in the minority.
