    Yeah sorry. Been busy week.

So I ordered the CB drop and it seem to take the vibes down from take off until 10 mph. It wasn't bad at all. Passengers couldn't even notice it was so slight.

This weekend we put the shims on. In my opinion the vibes are a little worse now than with just the CB drop. Vibes seem to stay all the way up until 20 mph now. Nothing horrible just slightly noticeable. I tried taking the CB drop kit off and leaving just the shims. Bad idea. Vibs very bad.

So I am going to remove the shims and just roll with it. Its nothing bad. But for me just the CB drop seems to work the best. Of course I could probably get a small degree from toytec and it might help. I ordered teh 3* and it might be too much.

I just installed my lift this weekend and installed the smaller degree shim from Toytec (you have to look in the 1st gen section for this) and I have no vibes at all. I do have a small shudder at take off but I had that before the lift so I can live with it.

I believe the degree shim is 2.25*

how high is your rear and front end set at??

I have about 2inches of height more than stock on my rear but about 3 inches higher with the larger tires.

I put on the 2" AAL with the shim and moved up from a 265/70/16 to a 286/75/16. I have the OME 885 with spacer (that comes in the 885 kit) I haven't taken any measurements yet.

I have a 2009 and have had the same drive line vibrations too. I just recently had my OME rear leaf pack installed and on the drive home noticed some vibrations... damn it! looks like something is odd... The carrier barring drop is installed. recommended part from ARB on their suspension lift. I did a 1.75" lift on front and 2.25 on back. The leaf pack is 2.25...

If you installed front spacers for the differential try tightening them up even more. I thought mine were good enough at first then after a few months I got back down there and cranked on them some more. My vibes have decreased dramatically. Still have a slight vibe but nothing like it was.

    I'll join this thread,
I just added 10 leaf deavers, 1.75" lift (looks like 2") and got the vibration at 25-30 mph. I made a carrier shim 1/4" thick and the vibration moved to 30-35 and 65-70. Im in a prerunner and from what im reading here I can't get one made? Maybe I will try a 1/2" spacer next. Then I shim if there are problems.

don't be hesitant. we sell our kit those components all the time, with very little issues. But, each truck does have its own personality.

    what is your concern..

my concern is this entire thread of getting shudders when right now, the truck rides great. i'd like to put a lift on there mainly for appearance issues and so that I can clear 285s with some minor trimming.

I don't want to develop shudders/vibrations and I realize that the only way to tell is if I get them is to install it and see how it goes. i am not that mechanically inclined, so i'd be paying a local off road shop to install. They told me that they met you all (toytec) at some convention and know that you all make a great quality product, but still, i've seen some threads where ppl even got the ultimate lift kit and had some of these issue(s).

I have a 2006 Double Cab TRD, I put 2.5" spacers (soon to be 5100's just haven't installed yet) and a 2.5" rear AAL. I also did the diff drop and sway bar relocator as a precaution. I had NO trouble. I only resently got any vibration and I think it is because when I had my tires rotated they got out of balance. DONT HESITATE, TACO'S are MEANT to be LIFTED!!

I hear ya... I've been researching this for like 3 months now, so I know what to potentially expect. I just don't want buyers remorse if mine happens to shudder and I can't get it fixed.

I admit to being clueless on this subject -my dumbass can't even figure out if the shims are needed for rear block lifts or AALs or both.

Darrick - if I get the AAL from you guys, longer U Bolts, it sounds like you would still recommend the 3 degree shims, is that correct?

To be specific, I am about to order from you guys:
    UB4- ubolts
TAC-AL-HA -AALs (No TSB done on my 05)
TP14-1/4 spacer for driver's side front
These will go with 4 5100s on factory coils.

so, to shim or not to shim? any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for the hand holding, I love all this lift info but I have feeble brain overload(FBR) from it all. I didn't PM this in hopes that others may benefit, as well.

well, when I spoke to darrick on the phone a couple of weeks ago, he recommended the 3 degree shims along with all the parts you listed above which looks like a carbon copy of the parts i'll be ordering.

I complete understand your concern and your reserve. As you read from the previous post, some people just don't have a bit a problems. There is just no way to determine if your truck will or not. But I can tell you that the shutters are minimal when they do show up...

    Good luck deciding.

    I just ordered the following:

Bilstein 5100s complete set from DSM
Toytec AAL for TSB rear springs
    3 degree shims
Longer Ubolts (stock ones I'm told barely clear with the shims and aal)
Carrier Bearing Drop Kit (I figured @ only 11 bucks, this helps correct rear driveline angle, why not--I may not install if not needed).

    Now the hard part.... WAITING...
