Are you going to get new shocks for the back or just use what you have?

I've heard a couple of people mention a U-bolt flip kit, but I still don't know what that means.

I already have a set of rough country rear shocks that came with my block kit that are set up for a 2 inch lift, so I figure that I can probably use those until I find a better option

You can see mine in this pic. Ubolts are flipped upside down, with new plates that sit on top of the springs. Gets the hardware up and out of the way so they don't get hung up on rocks and trail stuff.

I was thinking about maybe doing extended length Bilsteins in the future with some new bump stops. I'm wondering if I would also have to do extended rear brake lines with a set up like that

Not with an AAL. I put extended SS line on mine with dakars and extended 5100s but they aren't needed.

I also just found this kit. I'm wondering if I should just buy and install this and Say f**k it. Seems like it would be everything that I need for a pretty reasonable price for what you get.image.jpg

Still sitting on factory wheels and tires. Can't wait for my f5's to make it across the pond!

OME 885 coils, 5100's front and rear. AAL in the back. LR UCA's. Rides just as nicely as the factory suspension at slower speeds and better than factory at higher speeds.

Yes, that kit is a good one. I think headstrong has it for less. There is also a thread for all this info you can post in.

The Dakar leaf pack provides about 2.75" of lift on its own. However, they are designed for caring heavy loads without sagging (like the stock springs do). So with no weight on the rear end they are stiff. They don't flex much at all over bumps.

An Add A Leaf sits on top of the factory springs and eventually will sag if you carry loads. The factory springs are known to droop over time.

That's what I've been hearing. I don't haul almost ever so I wasn't planning on getting the dakars. But this kit comes with an OME leaf kit and I'm wondering how good that is compared to an AAL

Nice set up! If you do an OME lift on the front of recommend the 886 coils due to your bumper and winch weight.

I have Dakars on my rear and rarely carry anything. It looks great and find smooth on roads. Over bumps the rear end is stiff. On rough roads that would be a bit bouncy.

There are other leaf spring packs that are not as stiff from other companies.

It's not bad at all, but honestly I haven't driven with them much without the weight of my campershell.. it rides almost like factory with the weight of the shell.

I'm looking for a whole leaf pack that gives me 2.5–3 inches of lift, but isn't as rough riding as everyone says that the dakars are. I don't know where to look
