I'm new to Tacoma world and I would really appreciate any info about a good 3" lift. I have a 2015 Trd sport. Decided to not go with a spacer lift simply because of the bad reviews .(rough ride) (messes with alignment) I don't want to spend more than $1000 but would still like a nice lift, with good performance but also a softer feel. Possibly looking at the toyotec 3" lift with bilstein 5100 front coilovers. Opinions?

    basing this on price:

5100s all around with eibach coils and a progressive AAL pack in the rear

Welcome to TW. At 3" of lift, the ride may be harsh, and you will definitely need UCAs as well, those alone will cost at least $400. The progressive AAL is the better way to go vs a single AAL as mentioned above.

Best bet on a budget as mentioned above:
    + Light Racing UCAs.

    Still going to break $1000.

If you stay below 2.5", you shouldn't need the UCAs which will save a bunch. Also what tire size are you looking at? There are significant performance advantages to going with 32s (265/70/R17s or 265/75/R16s) vs 33s in 285s.

I have this kit with 887 coils and I really like it.

    http://www.headstrongoffroad.com/headstrong-kits-tacoma-05-6-lug.html

You'll want 887 coils, no diff drop and UCAs. Best priced lift kit out there, IMO and headstrong is a pleasure to do business with.

The 887 coils have a lower spring rate than eibachs which will make the ride a tad softer. It's still firmer than stock though. Agreed that the progressive AAL is going to be better than the single AAL but I haven't had any issues yet.

I'm running the same setup as vandal. Rides former than stock but doesn't bounce you around. I'd bottom out going through one intersection before and now I glide right through it.

Headstrong is also where I got my kit from.

I have a double cab, I'm for sure open to other lifts. I was gonna go for the 33s in the 285 but still haven't decided against 32s not sure which would look better. Also considering 32s to avoid rubbing

Well here's what I would do. I'd do the kit in the link I posted with 884 coils, 3 leaf mini pack, and no diff drop. That puts you at $880 and about 2.25-2.5" of lift (I think. Someone else feel free to chime in). The reason I say that is because once you get to 3", that's when you're looking at replacing UCAs which is costly. With that kit, that's all you need. Do that and 32's and you'll be golden with minimal problems.

EDIT: I'm not speaking from experience here by the way. I'm totally stock in the suspension department. This is all just info I've gathered from countless hours of research.

884/5100 gave me 2" on my DCSB 4x4 after everything settled. 885 coils should net about 2.5" and 887 about 3".

Thanks for that. I change my vote to 885s then with no top plate spacer to keep it at 2.5"

Sub. I'm pretty sure I have a rough country 1.75 or 2 inch block lift installed in my truck. Definitely looking for something better and I would like to fit 32's instead of the 31s that I have right now. I'm just Wondering if it's worth an extra almost $1000 to get in extra half an inch to an inch of lift.

I'd say it is just for the sake of upgrading to a better lift.

I'm relatively new as well, so sorry for being a noob. But why doesn't your truck look much higher than my stock 2015 sport? or am i just blind?

The larger tires balance the truck out, so it looks like it could almost be stock in a picture. Look at the 2nd page of the Baja lift in my sig. Alone the truck looks like it could almost be stock, until I park it next to the same stock truck and there is a noticeable difference.
