My measurements match @Coop68 exactly. We have the same shit from same shop. It makes no sense that the exact same lift worked perfectly for him but not me.

I'm baffled too. I think mine was slightly off but not that much.

So when is your Red Cone trip this year? Have you ever added in SOB Hill?

Hoping I can find a window where the wildfires die down and the view isn't totally smoked out. It's such a disappointment going up there when you can't see.

Ran SOB a few years ago before the crawl box. It was clumsy and loud but i made it. theres a low quality video somewhere on my phone. I would like to run it again with the added control of the crawlbox. I just fucking hate radical Hill. The off camber shit around the mine still makes my asshole pucker.

Yeh, Radical Hill definitely keeps your attention!! I think I may like the climb out even less, as it's almost a blind switchback, and coming back down might be worse! And I only did part of SOB Hill, as I was solo, and it was around that point I found out my crawlbox shifter was broken, so I took the bypass as soon as I saw it. Didn't want to risk getting stuck there, as there isn't much traffic on that trail.

Yep, I know exactly the spot you're referring to. First time up I nearly stalled out there as my truck started slipping on loose bowling ball sized rocks. A week or two later there was a jeep that rolled...I think all the way down from that spot. So I think my anxiety is appropriate. Normally I try to thread the needle and hit red cone while there's still snow on Radical so I can pretend to be disappointed when i say, "aw shucks...guess we are headed out middle swan!"

I would definitely like to hit SOB again though, just to see how it is with the crawl box.

I have used permatex The Right Stuff black gasket maker on 3 different tcases and never leaked a drop. If any of the seals around the input, output, or shift rails are bad, replace them, but most guys doing the swap haven't needed to.

Littles; will do. Thanks again. It's a very light leak, and I'm sure it's just me previous "gasket job".... I was overly eager to proceed to the next steps, as getting the bends on that metal was a real "PIA", using a really big double ended wrench and my hi-lift.

Honestly, I'm impressed that this thing runs as well as it has.

Good chance there's no red cone for me this year.

I don't really have any interest in an engine swap unless for some reason this thing has to come out, but I am thinking I can mop this up. Got a borescope coming weds so I can peak inside the cylinders and at the knock sensor harness before I go deeper. I have been pretty religious with my peppermint spray and so far no evidence of rodents, so I don't think my knock sensor code is wiring related. I think it's because this thing is sucking in filth. I also found all three coils on the passenger side were loose, and likely have been since I had to pull the plugs 4 years ago after taking water over the hood and drinking from the Platte river. That's also probably where a lot of the dirt came from...my air filter was soaked so I ran without it back to woodland park that day.

Also...Moab. Theres a lot of Moab there.

I would guess there's only a few more weeks till red cone is closed again and I think I should take my time with some cleaning and maintenance and not rush this.
