Thanks. I'll have a look at the rotors. If they appear to be in descent shape I'll just replace the pads. As far as I know nobody in my area will even turn rotors any longer...theyll just tell you to go buy new. It doesn't seem to be worth anyone's time vs. the cost of new ones. 60k OEM pad replacement worked out for me on my last taco for about 200k, just as long as I didn't wait until I was hearing the squealers.
If they look scored, worn, rusty, etc I'll bite the bullet. I'm generally pretty easy on the brakes, although I have had A few hard braking situations in the past 60k.

I'll look into the brake fluid as well .. seems like something I should probably do if I'm replacing other parts.

On my 2005 Tacoma, I changed the engine oil and rotated the tires evert 7500 miles. I did the diff and trans service every 60k. I had the brakes and power steering flushed every 75k. Replaced the plugs myself every 60k. About every 50k, I'd throw a bottle Seafoam into the crankcase a couple hundred miles before the next oil change. I drove that truck for 17 years and put on 280,000 miles. When I went to trade it in, it still ran just as good as new. The Toyota maintenance your dealer is recommending is way overkill.

Sounds like you've got a good head on your shoulders.

ASE brake fluid interval is 2 years/30,000 miles, Toyota recommends 3 years/50,000 (superior seals and construction etc).

No need to get funky with an abs bleed unless you're having problems. Hand pump vacuum bleed or gravity bleed works just fine. Plenty of YouTube university on that one, fairly simply process.

Glad you did it yourself and the dealership can still kick rocks. Big ones.

It’s no longer your thread because you said the word “oil”. You brought it on yourself.
