You have to pull down the lower dash below the steering wheel and then it's easy to access. Much easier to do this than you think. Only 3 bolts, 1 of the bolts is hidden behind the drivers side kick panel. I have a whole write up with pictures on how to do the switch, harness and dash in post 134 of this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-stealth-and-flush-for-3rd-gens.406964/page-7

Thanks I found an easy way to hook that wire. Went under hood in fuse box found green wire in harness and tapped that. It works fine. Used a test light to test. When lights are off no power. When i turn lights on there is power to switch and LED light lights up with dash lights.

does anyone else have an issue with actually getting the grille off? I took out the screws and the six clips. The top came out fine but the bottom won't release from the truck. Any advice?

pull it forward then up. If you got the 4 clips on the bottom and the 2 clips plus 2 screws then you've got them all.

Mine went in but not nearly as easily as everyone else's appears to have. I had to remove the grill and then the center brace and end plates. After mounting it all the way forward I still had to trim the two plastic end plates to put them back in. Wiring was straightforward however.

It does take more work than people lead on!.. I blindly bought the CaliRaised 31.5" combo bar and brackets and it felt like a Chinese puzzle fitting it in there...I may have overpaid but quality feels good and and I'm satisfied with output. Outout Photo below is with bar only shining on house. Still need to figure out aiming..

How easy were the brackets to mount? Did you have to drill a hole or did you use an existing bolt to attach to? That's my only concern as I really don't want to drill any holes on the frame if I don't have to.

No holes to drill, the brackets stack on top of the outside aluminum bumper posts. So just four nuts to remove, slide the brackets on and reinstall. You do have to cut a section of the plastic air diverters on each side of the radiator to clear the brackets. Not much and I doubt anyone would notice later if you removed the brackets.

One thing I just thought of is you would probably be limited to a 31.5" bar since width of the brackets is fixed. Brackets are slotted front-to-rear for light bar mounting though.

But really it just consisted of removing the grill, plastic air diverters and unbolting two fluid coolers to help you guide the lightbar in.. Then reinstall everything probably about 6 screws/bolts and 6 plastic popout clips.

It took me a total of about 1.5 hrs for full install with switch and some soldering(instead of crimps)..

Thanks for the info... I'm looking at the same CaliRaised 31.5" bar as yours... Cheers.

So mine is the 3D lens flood/spot bar. It throws useable light just about the same areas as my brights..although the white light light reflects from much further out on signs and animal eyes. If you are wanting distance I would definitely say choose the 4d lens spot only option!.. I had a hard time deciding but needed a general spread of light so when with the combo 3d bar.
