Good mileage1.jpg Mostly highway but kinda hilly. 70 mph on the cruise. Love the improved mileage over my old Tundra.

Yep from almost the top. When I hit the bottom of the canyon I was at over 60 mpg.

Over a full tank the mpg meter in my experience is less than half a mpg off usually. Under represents.

This trip was all down hill. From about 6000' to about 1000'.

I got 37 earlier this year on the same trip, it was winter then so no A/C.

I got like 15/16 mpgs on the way up....

    Which is still pretty good.

Over all I've been getting just under 19 mpg pretty consistently. I'm happy with it.

If some of the 10s or there abouts with out mods are real, then they should be hitching, but it should be at Toyota.

But to answer you question, they are expecting a highly fuel efficient truck, not sure the taco has ever been the answer to that.

That was the trip back down the mountain. Every time you turn the truck off it does a little trip report on the screen.

That pic was after a 26 mile trip down a 5000' mountain.

My tank average right now after that trip is at about 19 mpg.

I drive it every day, even in the 70 zones I will cruise around 60-65.

Nothing dangerous about it at all. I wouldn't walk or ride a bike out there, but the right lane is pretty safe at a relatively low speed.

Just got back from a road trip for the last 2 weeks which took me from Florida to Canada over to Wisconsin and finally back to Florida. It was over 3700 miles and about 95% was highway driving. After each fill up except one I hand calculated the MPG and the best was coming out of Canada with 477 miles on the trip odometer which only required 16.1 gallons to fill the tank which equates to 29.6MPG. The worst was after going through the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont where I only got 24.7MPG. The average for the trip was between 26.3 to 26.5 MPG since the one I did not hand calculate was when I bought gas in Canada in liters instead of gallons. The best mileage came in Canada since the speed limit was 90KPH which equates to 55MPH and this slower speed increased the MPG. I have the stock tires which are 245's with 36-37 PSI pressure in each tire. The tonneau cover reduced drag a bit. I never used the cruise control so I bleed off some speed going up hills and mountains while coasting down the same. I also did not need to use the A/C because of the mild weather in Canada.

How does the current mileage meter work?

Sometimes I will be driving at 40-50 in 6th gear, and the current mileage meter says I am getting 30mpg, but the trip average, no matter what duration the current meter stays at 30mpg, will never even come close to even 20mpg.

I do a lot of up shifting (meter is fully blue), and I rarely crack 19mpg?

Check out the CPS thread. Some members are reporting increased mileage with a new CPS. I just bought the CPS. Doesn't hurt to give it a try.
