Marlin and URD make aftermarket parts that are supposed to be better than stock. I don't know the particulars though. I'm still on all my original stuff too. Maybe start a new thread on the subject and see what comes up?

Hell it seems like the stock did pretty damn well. I would say stick with the OEM and get another 300k out of it.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Sweet! Your truck looks really sharp still as well, just reg maintenance I assume? I heard of a guy that had like 627k on one of those first gens, not sure if it was true though, but I wouldn't doubt it for a minute.

Thanks for the compliment! I got this truck in May and to tell you the truth, this thing was a hunk of junk. Ive spent quite a bit of cash fixing it up. New clutch, all around brakes including drums, bushings, steering, battery terminals, the bed was beat to crap so I lined it too. Also the struts are byebye so tomorrow Im ordering a nice upgrade ;) cant wait.

But this thing runs amazing still. I have 33s and I can chirp them pretty easy. The tranny is also in good shape too. Theres still little issues wrong with it but nothing thats unsafe or that may cause larger problems.

OP, you have done well, and the maintenence you do has paid off. And your experience shows me that I really made the right choice when I decided to buy a tacoma.

I had to finally replace the rear drum brake shoes at 302k. They only had about 2mm of friction material left.

Thanks for posting this great story about a great product! I have been reading up on so many bad experiences with small problematic things lately. It's nice to see someone problem free :) I hope my 2010 DC 6M does this well. I also do a lot of exploring on forest roads and snow wheeling! GL with the next 300,000

Last toyota i had was the xtra cab 1991, when i bought it there was about 70.000 KM's on the truck. I had it for 12 years, there was well over 300.00 KM's on when i finally sold it. no serious problems, brakes, a clutch, an altenater the usual wear parts. The body was getting when i sold it. The plan is to get to 300.000 with the 2010 i have now!!!
