Thanks! And I'm going to put a 20" Rigid SR2 Combo light bar behind my front grill soon as well as smoking my tail lights. And I'll also be adding some Icon Uniball UCAs in the future and Dakar AALs in the back, and possibly a rear diff breather and some new armor up front for my bumper but I'm not totally set on it yet. I'm sure there's tons more I'll do it because you're never really done with building your truck but for now that's all I'm focusing on getting done.

Oh by the way, how did your alignment numbers turn out with the stock UCA's ??

Crap I never asked what they were because I didn't do it myself, the place I had install the lift uses another place to do the alignment so I have no idea. But by looking at my tires they look like they sit pretty good, plus I did a little testing on a straight road with it and it drives straight like it should. But on specifics I can't tell you, I wish I knew myself. Next time I get it aligned I'll have to ask, it totally slipped my mind.

No worries, well if it feels good I guess it's within spec or pretty close! Also, have you been getting any driveline vibes or strange noises at all? [sorry for all the questions, your lift set up is really vibing (pun intented) with me lol]. Looking forward to future add ons here :p

Yeah it definitely rides straight and great haha, and no I haven't actually. Everything is working great, no strange noises at all. Only new noise I've got in my truck is from the mud terrain tires but even those aren't that loud! And no problem man ask away, I kinda of took a leap of faith with my wheel and tire set up because everyone told me I couldn't fit a 9 inch wide wheel on a 265 trail grappler and I did without stretching it at all. Really didn't wanna do a 285 because of the cab mount chop and everything else. I know how it can be to be looking at possible set ups to go for on your truck! Very confusing and even frustrating! I definitely have more coming soon!

great looking truck! Ive got fuel wheels and 265's on mine also and really like them (different model wheels) Those 265's look like 285's, they fill up the wheel well really nice. I have been thinking about jumping to 285's though cuz my 265's just look too small on my 05.

Thanks! And yeah you can't go wrong with fuel! And yeah it can depend on the color of the truck too with the way they look! Like mine blend in with my truck of course because it's black, well at least when my tires aren't covered in snow lol, 265s and 285s are great for tacomas, anything bigger than that though gets really complicated really fast. Just noticed that your name was Caleb too by the way hahaha

Any name suggestions for my build? I was thinking "Black October" :D because it's black and I bought it in October, plus I think it sounds cool, and kinda pays tribute to Tom Clancy  any thoughts?

Ha I wouldn't have noticed that! Not too many of us around, especially spelled with a C!
I like the name "Black October", sounds good to me!

Great to hear! The 265's really do like 285's from the fit on your kranks, so clean! Black October sounds good to me haha, I also bought my '15 in October too, however mine is MGM
How come you decided to go with the diff drop? (I can't find it on the first post now, but I was sure it was in there lol)

That's very true! and thanks I think I'm gonna roll with it, maybe I'll get a vanity plate for it too.

Thanks! And I was gonna go with a MGM but I would've had to wait 3 months :/ the Alaska struggle. And I did the diff drop to reduce the angle on my c.v axels and it's just really recommended when doing a lift. You wouldn't need it on a 2WD but on a 4WD it's recommended.

Not gonna lie, I really didn't like the wheels you had on there too much. Those methods will look great though. One of these days I'll save up enough for some good ol true beadlocks.

How are you liking the 884s and oem shocks? I am eyeing the same lift but I want to keep my DD as comfortable as possible. I don't want my filling to fall out driving the lovely pot hole ridden streets of upstate NY.

    Thanks man!

Yeah, the wheels themselves look really good in my opinion but just not on my truck lol, too much silver in them and it doesn't really flow with the black too well. Plus they're kinda bro truck wheels and they're nothing you'd expect to see on a truck that actually goes off the pavement. And they came with free chipped spokes courtesy of Car iD and they've already got rock rash so I will definitely be getting methods soon!

The 884s ride great! Really cushioned ride, whenever I go over bumps off and on road you can really feel it has a much softer impact. But when the rear tires go over a bump it feels pretty stiff back there. It's probably because I just have an AAL and no Dakars, but I'll be getting some Dakars soon. And oh yeah trust me these Alaskan roads are so bad. Every summer the municipality of Anchorage busts their asses to fix the roads, so many pot holes its crazy.

Thanks. I'm sold on the 884s but can't decide on 5100s or OME shocks.

If you want more height then get the 5100s, if you want more functionality and a better off road suspension then get the OME. Both are great but though. You can get the height and functionality out of OME if you add front top plate spacers and do Dakar Leaf Packs in the back but it's really recommended that you get new UCAs once you go about 3" of lift because alignment numbers start to get crappy. But then again new UCAs can cost a lot if you want to do it right, you could go a little cheaper and get light racing UCAs for about $450 but if you have the extra $250 I'd get the Icon Tubular UCAs, they're about $700. But if alignment numbers don't bother you and you don't mind your truck being a little bit of a pain in the ass to keep straight on the highway then you may not want to get new UCAs or you just might add them in the future. Either way, it's something you want to do right the first time.

Thanks for the info. 2" is as high as I plan on going. It won't be off road enough to justify buying new UCAs. If I take it off road it would be a mild trail. I am just looking for a comfortable ride.

For 2" then I'd definitely recommend going with OME!
