32's fit,but rims hit calipers :( zero offset the fix?

    4wheelonline called me to say their warehouse dont think they will fit.I measured the rims i have that rub the caliper and they are 15x10 with a 4.5 backspacing.I'm thinking i should just cancel my order and order a 1/4 spacer and some longer ARP studs like i did with my old 99 camaro.sound good?

    not a chance,,,like i said the washers fit snug around the stud,,,what could vibrate,,,??? i'm not going to debate this much more,,,i know i've done it with success and my friends have also... its the same principle as a spacer... your simply moving the rim away from your hub or rotor where the rim makes contact...its that simple bro.. if i thought for 1 sec it could cause harm i would not suggest it..

    Engage Offroad long travel front and rear with some fat tires.
    ya know, we used to do that with our rice rockets back in the day when we were broke... it does work...

    only issue we ever ran into was with one set of wheels, we had torqued the wheels so much that when he sold his wheels and took them off, the washers were stuck to the wheel pretty bad... nothing a hammer couldn't take off though... the soon to be new owner wasn't too happy and cancelled the deal... haha...

    if the man wants to get up and running while waiting for his spacers, its an excellent idea... torque your rims properly and evenly (cross pattern) and no chance of any harm..

    You just stated the problem, its a simple washer. One might be slightly thicker than 1/4" while the one across from it is slightly thinner than 1/4" which would cause uneven spacing around the bolt pattern and cause the wheel to not sit correctly on the hub which is where you would get your vibration from, same vibration you would have with an unbalanced wheel.

    Wheel spacers are machined to be uniform all the way around.

    Washers might be fine for a temporary solution to get you around town for a couple days till you get the correct part, but not a good idea for a permanent solution

    grab a hand full of random washers out of the same pile and i can bet you only a micrometer would be able to notice the 1000th of a difference ... dont think for 1 sec just b/c something is machined it's true and correct...hardly the case... alot of spacers are aluminum, and if not torqued with a torque wrench you can easily over torque a lug causing an uneven spacer.

    Dude even though there is nothing wrong with using a 1/4 inch washer on all six studs why would you waste your time doing that when you could just use your stock wheels while you wait for your 1/4 inch spacer to come in? It's not like the wheels are going to get up and run away from you.

    I have 15x8 Cragar black window D's with 4.75 inch back spacing. The stock wheels have 4.5 inch back spacing. I'm using 1/4 inch spacer on my two front wheels and even though the stock studs are a little bit shorter the still work just fine. I haven't stripped them out and there is enough thread to properly use your lug nuts.
