Was doing some measuring and eye-balling today, and it really _looks_ like 33 inch tires will fit on my stock 2010 single cab 4X4 taco...

I know from countless threads this is not supposed to work, but figured I might just try it anyway and then if it fails throw a 2" suspension lift on there...

scale of 1-10 how stupid is this?

the tires on it now are 31" as measured by tape measure and have tons of clearance.

245/75R16, but somehow measuring bigger than the 31" I have on my '96... When I measured from the center of the wheel out to all points on the wheel well on the 2010 it had inches to spare at 17" (over half of 33")

    245 75 16 isn't even 31"
And it's not the wheel well that you run into trouble. It's the flaps, cab mount, UCA .... the issue is when turning while flexing and reversing while turning

I believe you regarding the other issues you run into, but I'm telling you, whatever may be written on the side-walls of those tires I have they are just over 31" by direct measurement even though they are listed as 245/75/r16... So if I did 2" of lift would the UCA still be an issue with 33's? (I know with over 3" of lift you have to deal with new UCA's, brake line extensions etc...)
