Yes like that r.c. lift , Diablo169 did a lot of mods to that lift actually I think greatly improved the lift for the better in a lot of ways

Sorry to chat in a picture thread but...

Joe, no worries. On the 86-95 Toyota's guys ran IFS drop bracket kits by because thats what there was and they did fine other than the weakness of the front end. Then solid axle swaps started getting popular from Allpro, Marlin and then Trail-gear. Most guys couldn't afford a SAS so in went the IFS kits and often a rear block or AAL. Many trails were run and much fun was had. The internet really pushed the envelope and everyone was SAS'ing, running 37" MTR's and destroying their bodies. Guys like myself were reading on Pirate4x4 and convinced they needed a SAS even if they could have gotten by with a body lift and a welded rear. The internet can be good and bad as guys point out how much money it costs to read here. I wanted to build a mildly capable daily driver this time. The more I read here I want to keep going bigger...

Frankenstuff, yes I agree BigMike's truck is awesome and the best here. I loved the MC07 I had in my last truck and it's cool to see the tech making it to the 3rd Gens. I also really liked Diablo169 s build too just because he bucked the trend and did something different. They both shared their info so others could see and copy easily. For those looking to read: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bigmike’s-big-journey-new-2016-tacoma.427850/ and https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bro-coma-3rd-gen-build-30-bro-60-build-and-25-bs.461225/ It seems every truck has a common recipe that guys copy. On my last truck its was 44044's and Chevy's. Here it seems to be 5100's, 888's and Dakars so it's always cool to see something new.

I was in Hawaii a few weeks ago and every other vehicle on the road was a lifted Tacoma. Gotta say, although it isn't my style, there were several good looking rigs out there with 6inch+ lifts.

Not much rocks around here but yes, they get it done in the mud.

Did you buy the Inline Hypertech speedometer calibrator once you went with 33 inch tires? I went with the next height up which is 31.5 and even my speedometer was off by 1 and a half miles.

Yes, the inline HyperTech was a part of my install. The shop programmed and installed on my behalf so I cannot speak to the install, but the functionality is great. Speedometer and Tachometer as accurate based upon GPS speeds.

Did you mean speedo and odo?

Tach does not correlate to GPS.

    With the 33’s and 4.88’s I’m 4mph off.
I still didn’t buy the hyper tech. 4mph to me doesn’t justify 225 bucks for that thing haha
