3days before I'm supposed to get my charger...

I get a call from the local slappy from Hendrick motors telling me that they don't have my part. I ordered this shit the day after Toyota made the announcement that they were stopping sales at the end of June.
Words cannot describe the level of rage within me right now

 

I knew they were discontinuing them but I didn't realize they were stopping sales at the end of June.

 

They aren't stopping sales, they are stopping all production of SC and selling off all inventory from then on...or did I read it wrong

 

So three days before it's supposed to be there, they don't have it?????? Did they originally tell you it would be in today and schedule your service 3 days after the arrival date? Title says 3 days before getting the charger. Seems to me that it wouldn't be there regardless since you still have 3 days to go. Not sure why they would call to let you know unless you called them first asking if it came in early.

AND they have to warranty it for 10 years....sooooooo yea...

 

I know you have made your order but have you looked at URD if they cant get your TRD one? They arent discontinuing them, get a good shop to put it in...

 

Yes, they are discontinuing the entire program, no new kits or superchargers. By law they are required to supply maintenance/replacement parts for 10 years.

Yes, the fit kits are harder to find than the supercharger.

 

I'm supposed to be dropping my truck off Wednesday night then going out of town for the holiday and they're installing it on the 2nd. His call was to let me know that they won't have it so don't come in Wednesday night. Honestly it feels like them trying to back out of the deal to me

 

Per the internal memo floating around on the original TRD Supercharger discontinued thread, Toyota confirmed they will support it for 10 years. After that time, I'm sure an aftermarket company would take over.

Edit: Or just buy the rebuild kit before the 10 year period is up to have on hand.

 

That's my plan, buy a couple rebuild kits and be done with it

I'm completely not surprised. They've been dicks the entire time. I literally called the day after reading that trd was stopping production. He said 5800, I said if you do 5500 we've got a deal. Did the usual hemming and hawing and came back on. Said yeah...we can do that. I got an email confirming the appointment immediately and then just got an email Friday reminding me of it (like I was going to forget)
Then got the call around 1today telling me that the part was on backorder. Didn't specify which part and I shouldn't being my truck in before heading out of town.
Found a charger fit kit for 980 (kit only) say another dealership online off worse comes to worst. Said dealer wanted 8k complete with install. Zero chance I do that shit

 

What drew me to the TRD was having the factory warranty with it. If URD becomes the only option I'll have to seriously consider what to do. The idea of the v8 looks better all the time

 

Yeah, that warranty. The 60k had me. They offered me a lifetime powertrain as well and told me that the powertrain was going to include the charger. 60k at least.

The superchargers are easier to find than the kit. I would buy the kit anyway and try and find a supercharger.
