Thanks man. I don’t have to have BFG. I kind of would like Toyo AT3s but none of them are in stock anywhere. Thoughts on the 3” front and 2” back level kit?

Leveling with spacers/blocks makes for a pretty rough ride and it increases wear on your coilsprings if that's what you're thinking of. I'd consider an inexpensive suspension set up like Old Man Emu and a new pack of leafsprings which would net you 2-3" of lift. There's some decent writeups in the Suspension portion of Tacomaworld. I've heard better things from Toyo AT3s than BFG KO2s but I've also heard good things about Falken Wildpeaks, General Grabber ATs, Cooper AT3, Yokohama G013s.

I know I've given you a lot of options but if you aren't doing anything exceedingly hard on your truck or trying to get through thick mud any of them will be fine. It's a matter of buying a set and seeing how it works towards your goals. I don't think you can go wrong with any brand-name AT tire - everyone has a different opinion and one bad apple spoils the bunch in the tire world. I bought Cooper ST MAXX but they're super loud and E-ply rides rough. Most of the terrain in my location includes mud so I needed something with large voids but didn't want to sacrifice tread wear and road comfort with a mud terrain.

Not sure what you are asking, but I went from stock to 285/75/16 Duratracs and now General X3's and also have the increased weigh of rubber.

So with all the confusion I decided to not take a chance I getting 285/75R16s because I don’t want the extra stress on the truck due to weight and spacers. I just ordered Toyo 265/75R16 instead. They only weigh 6 pounds more apiece instead of 25 pounds. I can still use the lift kit I want and not need spacers. Not a bad compromise for a tire that’s only 1 inch smaller.

So are these tires going to fit my 2021 SR5 that has a 7jx16 ET25 rim? Am I going to need spacers?? The Toyo 265/75R16 is 10.5” wide fully inflated while the current stock tire a 245/75R16 is 9.8” wide fully inflated. Is it going to rub the control arm or anything else? Man this is complicated and the dealership doesn’t know jack.

Guys I realize some of the senior membership here probably get pretty sick of hearing the same questions over and over again. But please understand this is the first time I’ve ever asked it and I have been searching this forum for hours to get the right answers. I wish I had time to spend two straight weeks and study everything here but I don’t. I’m putting my lift kit on today and the new tires on Monday. I didn’t realize these Tacoma‘s only had 7 inch rims. Who would’ve ever thought that? That significantly restricts what type and size of tire you can put on these things. 265 is the largest. Having said that when increasing the width of the tire then the offset of the wheel will more than likely need to change. You can either buy a new wheel or add spacers. All asking is this-

With my current stock rim being 7jx16 ET25 and the current stock tire being 245/75R16 and 9.8” wide will I be able to install the Toyo’s I ordered that are 265/75R16 and 10.5” wide on the same stock 7jx16 ET25 rim and still have clearance to operate normally? If I have to buy new rims so be it but I need to know. I guarantee you there are hundreds if not thousands of members here that know the answer to this because of their own personal trial and error over the last five years. What’s incredibly disappointing to me is the Toyota dealership doesn’t know the answer to any of these questions nor does any truck shop I have called. If you ask the right questions you can tell they don’t know and pretty much wing it. That’s why I’m here. I guarantee you guys know. Any help would be incredibly appreciated and I would be glad to compensate anyone’s time if they reach out to me privately and coach me through this. Thanks.

Discount tire put them on and road force balanced them. I put 285/75/16 Nitto Ridge Grappler on stock TRD Pro 16x7 rims. Runs great. Balanced great. Drives great. 1 mpg loss. I don’t notice any loss in acceleration.

You’re fine with a 265/75R16. The TRD OR wheels are the same 16x7 with +25mm offset and there are literally thousands of us running that size with stock UCAs and no problems.

Wow. That tire (at least Toyo) is 2 inches wider then the tire I have now. With my stock rim the offset of +25 my current tire rests about 3/4 of an inch off the control alarm. Your tire would not fit on my rig without spacers. I think a half inch spacer would work however what everyone’s telling me is if you put spacers of any size on a truck a kitten dies somewhere. That’s what I heard. lol

Besides this ship has sailed. I finally gave up helping out here from anyone here on this so after no less than 10 hours of research I went with 17x9 Fuel Vapor -12 wheels and Toyo 285/70R17 117T tires. I will post up pictures after they are mountain.

I’m very glad to help. It took me about 12 hours of research and YouTube videos to figure out what would work. I still have to do a tiny bit of cutting in the back of the forward wheel wells but there’s no rush on that because it’s not very bad. Once thats done it will be 100% perfect.

cut on body mount? or what? because I already order same size tires and same specs of wheel, but different designs. Anyway, point is, I know 3 inches lift will work very well, but Im very curious where did you cut?

My rubbing is remarkably mild. I have not cut it yet. I found a member here that’s going to do it for me. He’ll do it professionally and make it look like it was stock that way. No big deal.
