my stock TRD OR was loaded down with 1 65qt RTIC plus deer and ice, 1 20qt RTIC plus cokes and ice, large bag of boots, some firewood, back seat loaded with suit cases, guns and clothes while towing a 6x14 utility trailer with a Honda Rancher ATV on it. Needless to say my truck is slightly looking at the sky while i drive. If i lift this truck, it will need to be able to haul and tow the things i am towing now plus more. I sold my Honda rancher and I am buying a Polaris Ranger. I will need to continue to use this truck as a truck.
I was in Missouri this past Sat thru Tuesday deer hunting and the hill sides alone were testing this taco. I used MTS and Crawl control a few times and it worked like a champ. however that clicking noise while its trying to get its collective shit together made me thing it was going to explode.

long story short, it seems that adding a leaf gives you less tow and haul capability than just replacing the leafs with a heavy duty set.

You can put 285 or 33 tires with this lift correct

You can get a single leaf AAL and it will handle the load better, at the expense of a stiffer unloaded ride. New leaf pack would be ideal though.

Crawl control and MTS have both worked well for me, but I have found the locker takes care of most of my off roading needs. Then I use the electronic traction stuff if I still get hung up.

Put the 5100 kit from headstrong on my 16 sport. 888 coils, lr uca’s, and 2 inch blocks in the back. Put on 285/70/17 wild peak at3’s. Wheels are seam trd’s. No rubbing and no cmc.

I tow with 5100’s and a single AAL- couldn’t be happier with the setup. The AAL is what extends your rear weight load capacity, not the shocks.

Nice setup. I’m about to do the same thing. Do you have any pics?

Fully loaded, with 15 extra gallons of gas in the bed and a full tank. It was about 5 inches below the rear stops, and the rear springs were flat across, engaging all leafs. Some people would recommend airbags to go with this setup, but I don’t want to lose full flexing of the rear axle when not loaded while off-roading (as most airbags bolt in between the top and bottom). Otherwise, the unloaded ride is slightly stiffer but not nearly as much as that with my stock Gen1, and I feel that it didn’t affect anything.

Those mid high shells with the prinsu that butts up to them looks so good

Thanks! I mentioned it earlier, but I have 5100’s, front set to 3rd click (1.5”), and rear at the lowest setting. A single AAL leaf, 265/75/16 KO2’s on stock wheels. My trailer has a Husky weight distributing hitch, too.

    Edit: 20’ Jayco @ 3000 lbs.

Ok saw the lift not tire size. So you probably get a little extra torque with those tires than id get im guessing based on how my truck slowed down off line after bigger tires

Love this look. Did you change springs?
    What roof rack is that?

Thanks! It’s a Prinsu cabrack, and I lifted front and back about 1.5–inches with a combination of using 265/75/16 KO2’s, 5100 shocks front and back, and a single AAL spring in the rear to give it less sag when towing. Drives great empty too.

Do you have pics? Does it rub off-road under articulation and load?

Haven’t had it off-road but no rubbing so for. Just put the hyper tech in today to correct the speedometer. The pics really don’t do it justice it looks like a completely different truck.lost my premeasurments bit from the floor to the top of the wheel well upfront 39 1/4 rear 40.
