FWIW, in AZ I have a mini shovel and rope mounted to my quick fists for a year and a half. No theft!

I do, but if someone wants it, they are obviously putting to good use, and hopefully not to smash my window out

So you just drilled through the plastic? How secure is this? I’m thinking about doing the same due to low clearance from my DB cover.

So I used the quick clips, used one and a half inch stainless steel bolts number 10, drilled into the bed liner, pulled the wheel well covers down to reach the bed from the back.

What clips are those, are they adjustable for diameter?

Yes, quickfist clamps. They are built pretty well and adjust to an axe and a shovel.

Yes, didn't need washers because my holes were perfect, but used lock nuts

I'd suggest using the biggest fender washers you can find to spread the load out to as big of a surface area as possible. I'd be worried about a nut pulling through the bed side after some time bouncing around
