I went from driving a 2nd gen Prius to a 2016 DCSB TRD OR. I love the truck. On calm drives home from my office I can get anywhere from 22 to 26.6 mpg. I think the shifty transmission and Atkinson cycle engine contribute a lot to the complaints people have because most people don't understand what it takes to achieve this kind of gas mileage in a 4500 lb truck with stock all terrain tires.

I drive like a grandpa and average 19mpg. See fuelly the 3rd gen is doing about the same on fuel economy as many previous year 2nd Gens

That's crazy. When I check my trip mileage in city driving I get around 22. 17 to 19 on the highway though.

Oh ya ... I have a complaint ... wtf did Toyota make volume up/down on the left/right of the button, and next/previous track on the up/down ... wtf ... is it because they're Japanese and read from right to left and top to bottom so they don't understand how next/previous makes more sense to us dumb americans left/right, and volume up/down .. well, up/down, 'nuff said.

One of these Saturday mornings when I am bored enough I'm going to take the button apart and see if I can just rotate it in the housing ...

Yeah that's one of the first things I noticed too. Not an intuitive layout.

After a few days I got used to it, but it's kind of backwards to my brain ... just had to reprogram my thinking is all ;)

But it reflects what is going on at the screen! up/down are channels and left/right is volume. So in Japanese eyes it is logical. But you also have to understand that a DCLB longbed is bigger than their firetrucks!

Radio controls should be on right side of wheel closest to radio.

Are Jeep jokes even allowed here anymore, or did I just cross the line? The IS an edit button

Tow with this truck on longer distances (1+ hours) and you will reach the conclusion this truck is an underpowered bitch. If all you do is drive it on the street and use the bed for groceries or whatnot you are fine. But even without ECT it's got transmission mapping issues. It is not about he says, she says, there is now tons of data from real customers that are saying something is not right with th 3.5/6sp combo. I have owned all Tacoma Gens. This one sucks and is gonna be dumped.

My 3rd Gen is getting roughly about 1MPG better than my 2nd Gen.
