Took my 16 TRDOR with 6300 miles in for squeaking/scratching coming from the front end after driving for 15 minutes or so, and braking usually made it a little worse. Braking also occassionally brought 1 or 2 light thuds from the front end. The dealer confirmed the noise and said it is the body mounts and there is an updated part they are getting for me. I will update when i get it back and confirm if this fixed the noises or not.

    Update:
The dealership said it was an installation issue with one of the front body mounts. The field service rep looked at it and said to replace both feont body mounts with an updated part. Seems to have worked. I can't wait to find out what the next problem with this truck will be

Was the part redesigned or something? How was it "updated"? Curious to know. Im assuming when they say front body mounts they are referring to the ones at the radiator core support? Any way you can post pictures of the updated/new ones?

This has been ongoing problem , sounds like Toyota finally acknowledged the problem and fixed it with a new type body mount. There's a few threads on here about people who have replace them with polyurethane and fixed the problem.

Dealer told me passenger side that was noisy was installed wrong. They would only replace the one side. I told them if one was bad they should at least check and replace the other $10 part. No way. They refused. It is quiet now so happy.

Had a squeaky rattle noise started a week or so ago while going down the driveway. While in for the Trans TSB, I mentioned it to the service guy. They found the front right body mount "loose and off center". Did a fix and I'm quiet again. No suspension issues on mine yet.

I’m planning on taking my truck this Friday to address this issue. Squeaking on front passenger but iffy cause I upgraded to OME and Dakar and them not checking due to upgraded suspension...but I’m positive it’s not from suspension upgrade. Hope it’s the body mount bushing. Anyone have a video of the squeak?

Honestly, it sounds like a squeaky leaf spring. If your leaves are quiet, check the body mounts. The four rear ones are easy to do at home. The front two take a bit of access. I've been wanting to check them. I can't remember the toque value, but it was pretty low. Something like 30N-m or 30ft-lb?

If the mount appears damaged, then I'd take it in.

Here’s a video from yesterday. I don’t hear it in the rear leaf spring. Is it a matter of getting in there and removing them?

EDIT: rocking the body back and forth

Yes and Yes. I'm just saying that they make the same sound as squeaky leaves in about the same situations.

The body mounts seem to settle in a bit, so a quick re-torquing helped me. Just slide under and check them, no need to remove them.

Great. I will try it out soon as I’m off. Thanks!

    No problem.

I tried looking in the torque info that I have and cannot find it. I think it was posted on TW somewhere.

This may help you out if you end up doing this yourself.

Just an update: I greased everything, tightened the body mount bolt (although it was already tight), then gave up on it. Then I noticed a loose washer(?) on top of my top hat(?) of my suspension. Tightened that up and haven’t heard anything yet. Odd because I’d assume that would be more of a rattle versus a squeak but I’ll drive around a bit more and see.

I have had the same noise coming from the front every time I go over speed bump or getting in and out of my driveway.
Took my truck to the dealer , and they agree there is a squeaky noise coming from the front but they couldn't find where exactly came from.
Their suggestion was to come back when it gets worse. :annoyed:

Same. They said if it gets worst, come back on a “dry day” so that their service reps can replicate the sound and regrease everything (for $130). I asked if it had anything to do with bushings or whatnot failing, it should be covered under warranty. Rep said it should, but we need to justify our service reps and pay them as the noise can be difficult to locate...and regreasing everything would be that. Hmm. I hope you’re able to find out the issue!
