    What’s up all!

So I am the second owner in this truck. The previous owner could not manage to get in and out without dragging his or her feet all over the door sill.

This left me with a big ole eye sore and potential start point of body decay. I have owned a 3rd gen before going back to this truck. I remember that those door sill protectors wrap around. Before I jump too far into his let me put up part numbers and factory instructions on how to install.
    326A8A45-7376-4D30-899E-33E540C81C07.jpg
This is how Toyota tells you to install them.

Now that it’s out there let me show you what I did. My old sill protectors don’t wrap around and provide good coverage. This is how I started to peel them.
    4ACFF1FF-0BF8-4310-A2D3-B91821250E4D.jpg

Once they start I pulled steady and at a medium speed. This kept most all of the adhesive on the old protectors.

    C855D14B-F13C-461C-8407-4ADDF713B104.jpg

The adhesive that was left I let soak in remover for about five min and used my fingernail to remove easily.
    5F0AC0F4-192F-4907-A761-388D1CF94CF5.jpg

Then I cleaned with glass cleaner to prep and applied dry. There are tabs to align that work very well. Thanks Toyota!!!!

    E3F5F840-0D55-4A4A-8DBA-2F5F3758B16E.jpg

I used a heat gun on low very, and I mean very, sparingly. Too much heat will blister/warp the protector. This allowed me to wrap the outer edge and ensure good adhesion!
    78DECE4E-C87A-4BC1-B3ED-B0459336D070.jpg
I would roll the slightly warm sill protector from the top down, from one side to the other.
    7BF6DD4D-50F0-4432-AB8E-B727646B9F12.jpg
everything went very smooth and now my scratched up door sill is protected and covered by the new sill protectors!

I am always grateful for all the knowledge dumped on here for all to use. I hope this adds to it. With the way that these adhere I am not worried about water getting under there. This also kept me from having to paint it.

    Thanks all!

I did forget to tell you all that these were $45 dollars retail and $36 wholesale at my dealership. They had them in stock and I am lucky enough that my work has a wholesale account there.

I didn't know these existed. I have the same ones you had and have started scratching where they don't cover. Will be replacing mine. Thanks for the info!

Did this come as a set of two or four. I have an access cab so I wouldn’t need the rears but I need to do this mod next lol.

They sell them as kits for what ever body style you have. This one is for the double cab. Just ask for 2019 kit for an access cab. Should get ya the right set up.

If I'm reading this right...you're using a 3rd Gen kit (i.e. the part number) on a 2nd Gen, correct?

That is correct! The third gen ones wrap around the sill for better protection!

Nice post. I wanted to be able to put my feel at the edge there too without worrying about the paint. I used a different brand of sill protectors though. Good to know the 3rd Gen ones offer better protection.
