Who has done it cleanly? Pics?

Who in the front range (Littleton to Arvada) do people trust and recommend?

I spent the last week beating the shit out of my skid plates in Moab. I had to put washers under the plate that goes under the exhaust as I had beaten it into the exhaust. I need to get this done but I have not seen any examples that I am particularly fond of. Also, I also have never had any exhaust work done out here and dont know who is good.

    Thanks all!

For me they routed it behind the tcase, for others they have tucked it up closer to the tcase in the same location.

Cool and thanks! I have seen the behind the case. I dont see any way at all they could push it up higher. Its already close and they had to flatten the dang pipe to do that.

    Ill give them a call.

I talked to AA, he said that they do both the around the case as well as the tuck it up closer to the case. He said that closer to the case is his preferred method but that it only leaves about a half inch to the skid plate. I have found that when rocks and dirt get in that space, they cause a pretty annoying vibration until they are removed so I was thinking I preferred the behind the case.

Does anybody have any pros/cons that they can add to the conversation for one method over another?

Ill have to ask him to leave me room to slide the case back if needed. I just dont want to recreate the issue of debris getting wedged between the exhaust and skid.

I let them talk me into going under the case. I think it turned out pretty well.

I have not hung my skid plate back up there yet to see how much clearance there is. The guy said that he likes to see 1/2" which I think I will have. I am going to hang it up this weekend so I will update with that dimension

Did you just do the reroute or did you had a different exhaust or anything else? How much did they charge if you don't mind?

I just did the reroute. I had all intentions of going behind the case but Josh mentioned difficulty removing the case and then the guy at the shop was pitching the under the case route pretty hard. It makes sense since all the heat shields are there and you can stay away from the case computer.

He originally quoted me $175. He only charged me $150 but I think it was because I showed him how awesome I am while we were under there. And he screwed up the first time and had to redo it. Could have been either reason. Either way, they were super nice and let me hang out under the truck and which gave me a chance to look at stuff from a better angle than I had seen it prior.

Seems like the behind the case option was $50 more.

He must have not charged you that much because your awesomeness!

What skid plates do you have and will they still fit without any mods?

I'm looking at getting the RCI Transfer Case Skid for the re-routed exhaust so I hope whatever way I go will work. I may get the skid and take it to wherever I decide to have it done so they know how it fits and what needs to be done.

I have the RCI as well. I had the one that dipped under the exhaust but that was clearly my low point as I bent it into the exhaust. I have the flat one sitting in my office, have just been busy doing other shit to the truck. I am going to put it on Saturday. The guy told me if it didnt fit to bring it back and he would fix it.

The only "mod" you should need is the rerouted exhaust.
