Taco TRD 78.. I will check the carrier bearing. If it is bad it will just have to much play correct?

Do you still have your stock wheels and tires? If so put them on and check the ride.

Im in the same boat as you but not as bad at high speeds. My vibrations I'm chasing are between 24mph and 30mph. Thinking the shims will help mine.

Shims helped me with all my slower speed vibrations on takeoff and when breaking.

I've got the 3* shims and the CB drop from OME. I measured my pinion angles and everything matches up after the shims and CB drop. I did not do the front diff drop since my CVs appeared to be at a manageable angle.

My issue started with my stock wheels and tries. since then i have gotten new tires, had them re balanced, and had several alignments and still the issue persists. I really thought it was the needle bearing but after the ECGS swap it stopped for a while and now is back.

I’m running no CB drop, only 3* shims. On a double cab short box.

I got some free from a buddy but my leaf spring pins are not very long so i'm about to change the shims and pins to these. Before the shims i had some "shutters" at low speeds mainly when breaking or accelerating, not really while coasting. I also had a rhythmic vibration around 60 but nothing jolting the truck like it sounds like you are having.

I might ditch my CB drop and see if that helps.

Like said above, put the stock wheels and tires on. You know they are good so it’s one less variable in your equation.
If you still have the vibe then I’d double check shims to make sure they are in and facing the right way then think about adding a little more degrees to it. Generally the guideline is 1 degree for every inch of lift but that’s just a ballpark. You could also add a carrier drop instead of a few more degrees to the rear since that’s easy to pull off with a stack of washers and some longer bolts. See if that helps. I’d be pretty confident if you still have vibes after outing the stock tires back on that it’s driveline angle that is the culprit.

I already removed the diff drop and vibrations got worse at all speeds but I have not tried removing the cb drop to see if that changes anything. I have not tried a 3 degree shim just yet. I do have the ome carrier bearing drop installed and it seemed to help the rear vibes.

Hopefully today I will get a angle gauge to see where I stand and then go from there.

Money says that you add the shims to the rear end you’ll be golden.

Which angles did you match to which? Does the output shaft coming off the transmission need to match the pinion angle, and the both propellor shafts need to be within half a degree of each other?
