I have an OEM LED light on its way and will be making tabs for it as soon as I can. That said, I think what I have now will work for that one tab on the OEM LEDs, that one appears to be the same as the halogens. The other two tabs however are different.

For the halogens I also added a repair tab for the lower outside mount (bumper/fender). Touching up the design but it should be done soon. I will do this tab for the LEDs as well.

That is actually the intent of these. Although my pictures just show them sitting in place they are designed to be bonded to whatever is remaining of the factory tabs and to then act as the tab itself. I apologize, I wasn't very clear about that.

    See Buttskevin21's post here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...nforcement-repair.795768/page-2#post-28546832

Due to the housing being marked as using Polypropylene (PP) I suggest that JB Weld Plastic BOND be used, it is the only product that specifically states PP and ABS. Apparently PP is more difficult to bond to.

Not yet. The top tabs (for a halogen light) are good but I am revising the design for the lower outboard tab. I don't have full kits ready yet but I should within a week or so.

I'm sure the answer is in this massive thread somewhere, but I was unable to find it.

I have a 21 OR with the LED headlights and want to upgrade just the bulbs. I live in Alaska, so the more heat the better. The OEM ones work just fine in terms of not icing up.

I'm looking at the Hikari Ultras for my low beams, but I'm not sure what is a good upgrade for the high beams? Do any exist or am I better off doing aux lights? I like the DD stealth light bar, but I'm not trying to break the bank quite yet.

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
If you have factory LED's you cannot replace the bulbs AFAIK.

If you have the OEM LED headlights you cannot upgrade the lights themselves and will need to get auxiliary lights. The "bulbs" in a LED headlight are "built in".

If you have the halogen headlights with the LED daytime running light then you can update the bulbs. For low beam it is recomended to change bulbs to a Halogen H9, this will give you the most light possible. For the high beam get a good H9 and upgrade the wiring. That said, aux lights are still a better bet here.

The LED bulbs that replace halogen bulbs are at best as good, and generally not as good. I have the Hikari Ultras in my high beams and like the color temp but to the eye, and to the machine, they don't offer any practical improvements (no extra distance).

Ahh okay so when people talk about installing Hikaris or Morimotos, they are putting an LED in a halogen assembly or using an even entirely different LED assembly?

Hikari and Morimoto sell LED bulbs that replace halogen bulbs. They are selling a LED "bulb" that trys to mimic a halogen bulb and you put that into a halogen housing. Out of the ones tested Hakari and MM are the best (the best LED bulb) but are still only as good as a good halogen bulb (GE 130 or H9), not better.

Morimoto also sells an entirely different housing that does use LEDs. It is no better than the Toyota LED headlight (whole headlight).

Toyota a sells a complete LED headlight. It is the entire headlight (housing and everything) and no components are the same as the ones used in the halogen headlight.

Cool that makes sense and isn't something I realized in reading - I appreciate you giving me some clarity. So I think the best course for me then is to just add the light bar, probably either the DD one I mentioned or the Cali Raised one. I like the clean, tucked away look. I'm also planning on switching out to DD fog lights. Probably the SS3 Pros in yellow.

    I wouldn't bother reading 316 pages.
99% of what you need to know is on page one, posts 1-3
Edit - throw in page 276 post 5506 as a good read as well

Most of the rest of the other pages are answering questions from people who didn't read posts 1-3, or educating the latest person who claims their Amazon/ebay LED drop ins are awesome (which they aren't, to be clear), or posts about 4-Runner headlights in a Tacoma forum :stirthepot: , or how to install H9's (pop out the green connector plastic), or where to buy (google)

Can anyone recommend a reverse light led bulb to purchase?
