For about $190 cheaper you can get these, and you can even close them for high milage driving.

Both. I really don't like the factory hood scoop so no interest in that, but I do like the looks of louvers on certain vehicles and if it helps keep the engine a little cooler on hot days that's an added bonus.

I would think that with the big ass grill there is plenty of air rolling through.

I have not heard of any overheating issues with this truck at all, so I'm sure the necessity of this mod is irrelevant, but there is no doubt this would help especially at low speed or idling in a hot parking lot. The thought of taking an angle grinder to my new hood is a little intimidating, but I know I can do a good job if I take my time.

Looking closer at the lines in the hood I think one big one in the center would look nice, or two very thin ones on center edges. I'd really like something recessed though, with no frame edges on the top of the hood. That would mean rolling down the edges of the louver opening and repainting most likely.

Hmmm... I do like the looks of that

EDIT: I just requested a quote from a local shop on this suggestion. Thank you so much for the idea.

This would be my vote. Much less cost, and they're adjustable.

A set of these would look nice in the center as well. I'm definitely going with a frameless design.

Ok. Be advised that IROC louvres are equally as functional as the Sport Scoop...this is how I know :D
