Yes I replaced the stock struts with Billy’s 5100 adjustable set at 0 with the stock coils and a 2.5” strut spacer and in the read I have the extended length bilstein rcd shocks.

My bad, just noticed that at the end of your profile. Found it online, and I remember you asking (and answered) about 2016 fitment since it shows it's for 2015 models, so I'm good there. The majority of guys on here have already recommended Marie@Headstrong, so my next step will be to contact her once I know overall height of my truck. No rush on that, and I appreciate the info. Fairly certain the 6.5" lift will work, then all that will be left is to find someone who will install everything without trying to hose me... :fingerscrossed:

No worries, I understand. From the looks of AustinNative measurement, I should have about 6" to spare. Will be interested to see what you come up with.

Btw AustinNative, I spent the best four years of my life at the Forty Acres way back in the day! I still regularly visit, my bro and sister-in-law are both also alums and still live there and my mom is in Leander. In fact my brother keeps telling me to bring my Taco up there and he'll help me do it! We're both Harley guys and used to turning wrenches but at my age I just want to get it done, and done right. Got some good recommendations for a shop close to me here. I'm going to see what they'll charge. Anxious to do it. Thanks to both of you and TacoTuesday (and everyone on this thread really) for all the info. I'm sure a few more questions to come if y'all don't mind

AustinNative, TacoTuesday91 & Leo4x2... with all of your combined experience with Maxtrac lifts, can the three of y'all comment on what size lift you guys think this is? I literally followed this guy to house yesterday (I know, good way to get shot but he was very cool...) and he figured it was to talk Taco. Poor guy had no clue what kind of lift it was, components or size lift. Bought it used just as you see it. At first I thought it was a s 6" for sure but I didn't see a spacer on the front coilovers, they were stock and... the rear had only what looked like a spacer block. Stock wheels exactly like mine but with 35"s and he said "they do rub". If it was a 6" it wouldn't be rubbing with this size tire correct? Anyone have an opinion?

One other strange thing he said that I forgot- he said after he bought it he noticed it had a slight transmission leak, so he took it back to the used car lot and they told him it was common when "you do that much lift". So he took it to Toyota dealer and they said "yeah pretty common, you just need a spacer." I have not read or heard of this anywhere, but it don't leak now! Does this sound right?

If it's Maxtrac spindles up front with stock shocks/springs and no spacer...it's only 4" lift in the front. The back blocks are either 2" or 4" - if it's 2, he has the 4" Maxtrac kit. If it's 4", he got the 6.5" kit, and it's missing something up front. 35's are gonna rub no matter what. Those aren't wide wheels, so it shouldn't be too terrible, but he's gonna have to trim and thanks to Toyota keeping their shitty cab mount design - he might have to do a little chop. That's why you see so many guys still running 33's on the 6+ lifts, they don't want to trim. I'm with Chad tho, that looks like a 6.5 Maxtrac kit. If there's no spacer, they probably threw on OME coils (like me) which, I don't think have any visible differences on the spring themselves to differentiate from stock. Stock Hitachi shocks all the way around I assume?

The other thing, he might be hearing a rub noise but it's his stability control kicking in - if he has it. Mine has been wonky since the lift, I just disable it. I'll be getting with @Texoma to see if throwing in an AAL and recalibrating the Yaw sensor fixes that.

Trans leak is bad. Generally as rule for every 2" you go up in the back, you need 1/2" of driveshaft spacer added. This is not exact science, you have to measure how far the driveshaft pulled out of the trans post-lift. I don't think fixing a leak in the rear main seal is "fixed" with a driveshaft spacer, but ok.

Dang bro excellent assessment. Sorry for I didn't take a better photo from the side, but I really appreciate the info because I won't lie, I want my truck to look exactly like his. I plan on keeping my stock wheels and using wheel spacers like a couple of you suggested.

So, I need to make sure I don't go bigger than 33"s and, I will need some kind of drive shaft spacer if I do the 6-1/2" lift correct? Is this something all you guys have had to install? Something I need Toyota to do? Thanks again for taking the time to help me out. Don't want to be driving around in tire-rubbin', tranny-leakin' Taco!

If you look at the Hawaii guys with 6+ DB lifts, they mostly run 33's. They have crazy laws down there on lifts and tires sticking out, but a lot of people do it so they don't have to chop. If you're aren't comfortable with a cab mount chop, I definitely don't recommend 35's. I've chopped a fuck ton out of the front, done the CMC and I still rub so I have more to chop. Toyota just, keeps putting that stupid mount in that bad spot. Yes you will need a driveshaft spacer, likely .75-1". The right way to do it is a custom driveshaft. A spacer will be like $100 vs up to $4-500 for a driveshaft. They both take about the same time to install. Some people don't do it at all, some people don't even realize it, some people get vibrations that bring it to their attention, etc. I wouldn't have the dealer do it because, well, I hate Toyota dealers right now and I wouldn't trust them with custom installs anyway. They usually take their "custom" stuff to the local 4WP anyway. Whoever does the lift can definitely do the spacer it's not complicated at all, just go with who you trust or DIY.

Also when you get spacers, if you want an even track, you have to get larger spacers on the rears. Maxtrac spindles increase the front track width about 1.5" overall.

Wow! I am constantly amazed at how much all of you guys know about all manner of Taco shit. I just don't understand how Dealers seem to know not shit about a lot. Hell, I couldn't even get them to tell how exactly they were going to check my tranny fluid when it was still new! But you guys really know your shit and newbies like me benefit. Based on several references, I do think I've found someone reputable to do my work, but you can bet I'll be armed with all of my TW notes from AustinNative, ChadsPride, Leo4x2, TacoTuesday91, etc. etc.

You wouldn't happen to be a cigar smoker would you?! I'd love to send you some Padrons or RoMa Crafts as a token of my appreciation.
