    Greetings!

I'm getting ready to purchase a '22 sport, access manual. I'm hoping to hear from folks about initial warnings, or suggestions.

I'm aware of the AC drip fix, and the 2nd AC fan if expecting to be over 100 degrees. I'm on the fence about various armor bits. (I've heard the stock skid plates tear easily?) I'd love a gas tank upgrade but haven't found one for the 6' bed; only doublecab 5's for some reason?

Initial intentions for the truck are daily driver, occasional camping, regular stuff hauling, and I love the idea of overlanding; but I'm not looking to make paths intentionally harder than they need to be.

    Appreciate your input!
    -Dusty

Welcome! Enjoy your truck. If you plan on potentially using skid plates, the splash guards that come on your truck won’t hold up to anything. Really, just enjoy the truck and you’ll figure out what “mods” you want to do or need to do as you go along.

There are a few *must reads* in the stickies section at the top of this forum you should peruse. I love my '19 access cab MT Sport! Just finished putting a real front bumper on and already put a rear bumper and sliders and under hood power center for wiring and ditch lights and air compressor under the seat and and and...

They are certainly not skids, splash guards for sure, also take the air damn off that thing when you get it, sports have a stupid plastic chin strap that needs to go in the trash!

I'm part of the cool kids club now

Found one with a bunch of extra's and no dealer markup! Had to goto NY for it though:duel:

Got pranked on the way home; looking for skids and cat/tank plates right away. :locked:

I have a dog. Dog fits fine. Wife and kids will get a minivan if/when they exist.

That link 404's a product page. But I did a search anyway and their long range tanks don't match my year / body combo. Only the 16 and 17 for some reason.

Heya; I sent an e-mail and contacted them. Turns out that in 2018 toyota added an extra crossmember that interferes; that's why the access cabs don't have it as an option past '17. Technically still possible; but a lot of extra effort now.

I was highly considering something like that in combination with a back seat delete. Very nice to see that it works out pretty well!

I thought we’d get a mini van too. She wouldn’t drive a mini van.

    Here’s the wife’s first van (aka moto-mom-van).

Seatbelts for six, kitchenette, jackknife sofa bed and tie downs for three dirtbikes.

I built this myself at home out of a 2015 cargo van. Sold it 5 years later.
