I'm trying to be unbiased since I've always had coilovers on my cars (still do). Hell, I have 500lb springs on my coilovers on the FRS, but trucks feel completely different. Just changing to E-rated KO2s made the truck a lot stiffer (in a good way). So, I'm guessing going from 650 to 700 on a properly dampened shock, you probably wouldn't notice much, if at all.

I am use to the KO2s, and I love the ride. I currently have ome so I am confident that I won't mind the heavier springs.

2nd Gen here, but yes the 700 lb spring to start wasn't bad at all. I just did it to save money knowing I'd need them later. Also running ko2s and those suckers make you feel the whole road. I went from a rough country spacer lift to the kings so it was like walking on Legos to walking on clouds kind of difference. I know this says 3rd Gen specific but here is what I'm running

King 700 lb extended travel coilovers
    Total chaos uniball ucas
    Low range extended brake lines

Dakar full leaf pack (going to add Dakar aal)
King extended travel rear shocks (specd for Dakar)
Low range extended brake lines and u bolt flip kit (modified see build thread)

    285/70/17 ko2s on scs Ray 10s.

I don't have fender flares so I don't have accurate measurements and I forgot to do a before and after during install anyways.

Alright fellas, I decided to browse craigslist for used suspension just using keywords: king suspension, OME suspension, and fox shocks.

Anyways, I came back with 1 result that peaked my interest in my area. I found some King Shocks 2.5's here's the kicker their for an F-150, but they were never installed and still new in box.

    P/N's are
    Part Number: KING-25001-331
    Part Number: KING-25001-214

Guys asking 2k OBO, and the post is a month old though he said if the post is up they are for sale.

What's the chance these work on a 3rd Gen..

    Teach me!!

    negative. won't fit

plus with just the shear size difference of the two vehicles the coil weight and valving would be way off and you probably wouldn't have that great of a ride at all.

Darn, I didn't know how close all the shocks were made. I figured the weight issue would come up then I was like hmmmm, wonder if King shocks offers revalves. lol

I have a set with the CDC valve on the front paired with my total chaos kit loving them so far still playing with the settings. And on a set of goodyeart MTRs which can make for a stiff ride.

How much armor is 700lb good for? I'm planning on IFS, Sliders, Mid, rear and gas tank. (possibly simple front / rear bumper)

700lb springs will be fine for that.

Also dont do a diff drop. Its not needed at that lift height and you probably won't be able to use many aftermarket skids. Your CVs will be fine.

How well do these shocks and springs do in long term test(miles/time period)? I also figure it depends on both on and off-road use.

Just obtaining information for future use.

Thank you! The skids and overall lift did come to question in my head which caused all the confusion.

I couldnt find any published rebuild recommendations, but Icon suggest 40-50k miles for street use for every rebuild and half that if you offroad them hard. Car coilovers are usually about the same amount of time. I don't see why Kings would be much different, if at all.
