Are your halos going to be lit up amber or white when powered? Where did you get the halo rings from since they fit perfectly? And I'm assuming to achieve the half amber halo you blacked out portion of halo ring and just tinted the remaining amber?

I'm trying to figure out a configuration for my SR5 headlights. I know I will black out with satin black and light smoke amber reflectors. Probably leave turn signal and high beam location chrome since I'm not as talented as you (and want functionality). And just have the amber DRL and half amber halo ring on projector. Probably look good, right?

 

The halos will be Amber when powered. They will not be my DRL, but wired to parking lights. So on for dusk/evening/etc. I sourced the lens from superbrightled.com they are 80mm rings. They do not fit perfect, will require trimming on the OEM shroud.
Correct, half of the ring was blacked out completely to give the angry look, the lower half was smoke tinted.

 

Woke up this morning and my 3D printer magically had a bunch of parts sitting there!

So how do you seal off/watertight the back of a cut up headlight?
A few options:

Ghetto level: Plastic bag and duct tape
Novice level: Home depot rubber plumbing boot
Mesojdm Level: Designed and Printed custom cap which still accepts the OEM rubber grommet

Thanks for always replying. Last question (probably not) How can I achieve an amber/amber switchback halo ring? I've seen the morimotos white/amber switchback halo rings, but I don't want white just amber. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

 

^just use a single color Amber halo, and use a switchback driver.


Got the back of the housings all sealed up. May not look like much, but damn the OEM bucket has so many curves/weird elevations it took some time to get the covers to fit perfect.

They were plastic fused to the buckets, then I went over the entire thing with black silicone for added moisture security. Doesn't look pretty, but they are bomb proof.

 

Another change yet again before they get sealed up.
Wasn't too fond of the marker being side illuminated, so I soldered some strips together to sit directly in the channel.
Mucho better. Look more like plasma beams now.
I am running them as side turn signals as well. Wiring them to the Parking lights with a PWM(to dim them) and so they''ll still flash to bright for turns at night.
