It will be interesting to see how well the Crawl Control works in digging out of snow, could be a handy little feature.

Snow would make for a good test.. Crawl has proven to be a good piece of tech on the Land Cruiser and 4runner, and I can only imagine it will have the same success on the Tacoma. I must say Im leaning more and more toward the A/T with Crawl. Suppose I'll drink on it............

I guess the dealer I buy it from will have to cut that price into their Hold Back

I think this is just referring to the way my particular dealership built out their allocations. Not something to worry about for all new production, but if this is the case then they will absolutely be soaking up that cost.

I have heard that from other sources, not just your dealer. The factory floor mats and sill protector are a 300 to 400 dollar option. It's very optionie if they all come with it.

This news is most unfortunate. Like you said though, "Dealer Hold Back".

Me: " So sales guy, you know that $300-$400 floor mat thingy?"
Sales Guy: " Yessir, what about it?"
Me: " Soak it up bitch!! Soak it up!"

Toyota hold back is 2% of invoice, so that's probably 600 dollars on a DCLB OR like i'm looking at

Surely we can squeeze more than 2% out of them. Then again we are talking about the king of midsize trucks..

So over in the Disappointed/Concerns threads, the discussion about drum brakes is a hot topic....

In the Crawl video, ole Seat Belt Sweers is claiming that drum brakes are better for OR applications due to the "protection" they provide..... I have driven thousands of miles off-road with both brake setups, and have never really noticed a difference. Meh, doesn't matter much to me. I can service drums just as easy as I can a disk setup, and I don't plan to attach a fifth wheel to a Tacoma anytime soon to benefit from disk heat dissipation.

    Anyone wanna share their thoughts??

I had read somewhere, that Toyota was required to sell a "certain percentage" of 2016 Tacomas, with the tonneau cover to meet the EPA#s. Not sure what that % is.

I also read that, & I believe it was 30% had to be sold with them in place to meet California EPA.

And I was the one that started what was just supposed to be a simple statement about calling bullshit on Toyotas reasoning for not going to disc brake like they did on the Tundra. I my self, have never had a problem ether. It was just my response to having just read about it. I didn't mean to start a 4 page war about it.

I had just noticed a few grumblings, but none the less I know could live with the drums.
