The SR5 would be a good entry point for anyone, imho. Offsets the TRD entry fee. And down the road once the new wears off, for a few $K install some quality lockers, shocks, tires and voila now its as good or better than any TRD OR.

Yeah the Expedition Overland Crew has some of, if not the best overlanding series on the innerwebs. Here is a link to the TW thread all about this season. This was posted by Kurt Williams of CruiserOutfitters fame. He was on this seasons expedition.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...entral-america-2015-season-on-youtube.384500/

Also Check out MountainStateOverland on youtube. Another great series filmed throughout Appalachia. If you have a wanderlust itch, this will definitely make you want to scratch it....:burnrubber:

I think I will hangout in the rabbit hole for a few days, if you don't mind

Think things over awhile, let the storm above blow over

I'm still in love with my 2000 tundra........since I bought her new and she has been reliable ........almost 300 k on the clock and I don't even know the HP and torque #'s

Doesn't burn any oil, dash hasn't cracked, seats didn't tear.
Still has the original shocks, no rust on the frame lucky me
Front end is tight.....Damn drum brakes on the rear

only expensive repair was the exhaust manifolds

Most annoying thing in my mind is the 16.8 empegees

I might wait until January 2016 when the initial buying fury is exhausted

Right now I think a George Dickel and ginger ale might hit the spot

And a fury it will indeed be. If you aren't dead set on buying right now, the hold out is always best. See the reviews, hear the gripes, and make an educated decision. I'm driving a 1997 TLC (Thoughtfully modified), but it gets at best, with a good tail wind, 16 on the hwy. Its like the fucking Queen Mary, and I love it.

I paid cash for it several years ago, and it has served the family well however, since day one I have missed my truck. Some say "get a trailer". I say "already got one". Still can't beat the utility of a truck bed. I am comfortable with an early purchase, and after having no car payment for many years I have a nice fat down payment to throw at them. Just my thoughts....

I am departing the Premises , giving up on the Tacoma, giving up on Toyota

Waited 8 months to find out the morons at Toyota are offering only black or grey interior colors......both dark colors will BBQ your ass round these parts

    Tan or beige or bust.......

Gonna keep driving my old 2000 tundra......maybe buy a little CUV for a daily driver.(but not a Rav 4)
Do some research on the new Honda truck and the New Nissan
Take a look at the F 150 and even the Ram1500

Another life long Toyota owner walks away ............

    All bought new
    1989 SR5 V6 4wd
    1990 4Runner V6 4wd .....wife's car
    2000 tundra 4wd
    2000 4Runner 4wd ......wife's car

I hereby resign from the Toyota family

    Adios

Thought I'd share this for those interested in a really basic 2WD 2016 Tacoma. I just saw the sticker for what quite possibly is my next truck; 2016 SR Access Cab 2WD. Steel wheels w/245/75/16 tires, looks like the base truck is indeed going to be a Pre-runner height vehicle. I believe Cruise control is not standard at this trim level. My local dealer provided this information.

 What is the year of the last Toyota you bought? So when was the last time you supported them?

Now you'll get the point
