My son and I both bought 2020 Off-Road double cabs the same week. His has been running great. Mine was a nightmare and declared a lemon by Toyota. Broke down more times than I care to recall (see thread on this forum). Fuel system and stalling issues that could not be fixed.

    - Brought it in for a rough upshift when cold with 2k on the clock. Got the standard Toyota dealer that doesn’t want to deal with it remedy:”it’s normal”. I checked the tranny fluid myself and it was almost a quart low from the factory, the fluid top off completely fixed the issue.

    - got the rumble strip from about 40-20 mph slowing down whether braking or not. Dealer said that’s normal as well. FYI a 50 lb bag of sand in the bed near the tailgate almost eliminates it, that’s normal too apparently.

    - on my 3rd driver-side window gasket that separates and flaps around and makes a racket whenever the window is open

    - Glovebox constantly rattles, still haven’t solved that one yet.

    - Fuel pump failed and it stalled it on the highway at 70:eek: (it is included in the recall) Dealer wanted to park it in the back of the lot since May until I told them to go to hell when they tried to give me a Corolla. They put a new, old design, pump in it while I’m waiting...still..for the recall fix.

The recall part should be available. I had an oil change at my dealer on Monday and they ordered the recall part and replaced it when I was there. Took 50 minutes.

I only have 15,000 miles on a 2016. I did the transmission TSB with about 1,000 miles due to delayed shifting reverse to drive on cold starts backing out my driveway. Problem solved. That's it. Still running stock battery...

I love my truck but I learned something about it, something the truck doesn't like. With our other vehicles when I turn off the ignition I turn the steering wheel a bit so it locks. Well I forgot since we have 4 other vehicles i did the same with the Tacoma. As we all know, once you open driver side door the steering wheel locks wherever it was. Because of me doing that the truck security kicked in and wouldn't allow me to start it. Took about 3 tries, and moving the steering wheel left to right...just remember not to do what I did!, otherwise great reliable vehicle!, it a Toyota!

Yep, I called. The said they ordered it but it’ll be a while since they are backed up with them.

The one they put in it is still running fine, the factory one had 10k on it when it failed and the recall is due to deterioration of the impeller from fuel, so I have to assume it’ll still go for a while. I’m not in a rush, especially to hand my keys to the dealer with their history.

2017 OR DCSB Auto 110k miles with 0 issues. Just regular oil & filter changes and tires. Changed all fluids and spark plugs at 100k. Bought it with 80k miles. I test drove a new one before getting mine and they drove exactly the same.

2021 4X4 Sport AC 3.5L MT - OME lift with Dakar leafs. 10x33 Coopers. ARB Bumper. KDMax Tune. 2017 SE AC 2.7L 2WD AT - OME lift with Dakar leafs, BA bumper, tooter manifold spacer, header, OVTuned. LED lights. Does not run like your average 2.7; this truck pulled a broken down HMMWV out of a wash. 2008 PreRunner 4.0L - 3" spring lift with Bilstein 5100s, ARB bumper, rear sway arm. Old Reliable, been around, beat up, and still runs like a beast.
    2017 with 45000 miles:
    1) air conditioning compressor seized
    2) broken engine mount

The only think about this truck's service record that is like my 1st gen and 2nd gen truck, is the leaf springs squeak.

This was my experience as well. My 2019 windshield cracked twice. I replaced it with an OEM aftermarket windshield and it was good to go

I've had my 2017 Off Road DCSB 6MT since brand new, April 2017. Currently have about 68K miles on it. Zero problems so far, other than constant flat tires with the OEM Goodyear crap tires. I replaced then in December 2019 and have not had a single tire issue since. Truck is bone stock. Only maintenance done thus far has been lube/filter changes (engine oil, diffs, transmission, Xfer case). Still running the original spark plugs and coolant.
