You must have not started driving until the late 2000s then?

Please post an update back here if you get the work done - pics would be greatly appreciated for all those who have similar seat issues.

you need ass and lower back protection when thrashing around in the 1st GEN bucket seats they are brutal on long drives and trail rides. my 2ndGEN buckets are way better , I cant imagine the 3rd GEN are as bad as they say compared to 1st GEN

if you decide to get them gels, just remember they take time to get used to, they are bout 2" thick and you will sit higher but you get used to them after awhile, im over 6 foot tall so I had a few inchs till my head reached the ceiling. and the bottom piece has a tendency to move around getting in and out, I cramed both under my seat covers held them in place pretty good. just some FYIs

I getcha. But when you need that little bit of extra padding these suckers will get you there. Not saying you need it but from personal experience these things are legitimate. Number one on Amazon for a reason.

Drove 8 hours round trip in one day in order to test drive a stick. Arrived back home and test drove the auto I bought one more time. My ass and back were sore as my old truck had sacked out seats. The Taco seats were heaven and the fatigue I was feeling was non existent.

That is the closest to a long test drive I could mimic and I thought the seats were among the most comfortable I had ever encountered.

Ok. So i finally got my hands on my TRD Pro. The seat actually sits higher and better than me 2016 TRD Sport. I don't sink in as much as I used to which is a huge plus because I'm not that tall at 5'7". Maybe each seat is made differently? I think the leather probably added an inch or too of padding which is good enough for me! I guess I have no complaints for now!

No complaints on the driver's seat on mine. One of the best I've ever sat on. Came from a Rav4 which after about a 100 miles I was in severe discomfort. Not with the Taco, though. I could drive it across country without any back issues. 5'10" about 220.

Guaranteed you have some health or mobility issues if you can't sit in a truck seat. Get yourself checked out or get in better shape ... you don't need to mod the truck you need to fix yourself.

I'm in excellent physical shape and the seats are uncomfortable to me on drives longer than 2 hours.

I raised the seat 3/4 inch in the back only on my '06 a long time ago. I put in the strongest bolts I could find, and they are longer than stock. I don't see how it will become an ejector seat in an accident, but I'm not an engineer. The back pain on long trips is gone. Getting out of the truck after three hundred miles or better with zero back pain made it worth it for me.
