3rd gen Stalling in intersection.... UPDATE

I have this issue too since new. Now, whenever I anticipate the need to gun it, I will actually mash the peddle earlier to account for it.

Yeah, kind of f'd up, but livable.

Apparently it is common on all new A/Ts. The 2016 Chrysler 200 L4 9 speed auto had a 3 second delay. It almost got me killed in Houston. The 2016 Silverado does similar. My 17 Taco limited seems flawless to the other two “American “ vehicles

 

Any reports if the OV tune fixes this issue?

 

I believe I have this issue as well, or at least similar. 2017 M/T. I'd describe my symptom as bucking or surging. A couple of times it was pretty violent bucking until I let off the throttle. Most recent occurrence was on flat road, 39 MPH in 5th. Light in front of me turns yellow, so I give about 3/4 throttle. Bucked like a mule 4-5 times until I let up on the gas. I changed my CPK sensor with a new one myself a couple months ago (since I can't stand the dealers around here) and it had no effect on the problem. I'm going to schedule an appointment and see if I can get anywhere with them. Bought the truck in February and it has 8100 miles now.

 

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that on the new Toyotas, if you press the gas and the brake at the same time, it kills the engine. Not in the way this guy was suggesting, but it apparently displays some kind of error code on the dash.

 

I've had this issue where I need to punch the gas and pull out into traffic and the truck hesitates. Literally does nothing at all. Though it's only done it a couple of times on my truck. However, between that and the white knuckle experiences I've had with the cruise control, it doesn't exactly breed confidence in the truck. I'll definitely be looking into other manufacturers and vehicles next spring. I'll use the (for now) great resale value to buy something that isn't quite so unpredictable.

 

Mine is OV tuned and still has the issue unfortunately. I was really hoping that it would fix it. I see it has happen a lot about 60-70 miles after a fill up. 2017 DCLB TRD sport 4x4. The dealership could never duplicate it. I have tried ECT as well as traction control off but nothing fixes it

 

Yep! I have tried this to override the stall, same results as you experienced.

 

BTW, my 2017 still stalls out periodically but I have learned to anticipate while making left hand turns into my driveway onto incoming traffic. I just make sure I give the oncoming traffic plenty of space so if the stall occurs the power will recover. Aside from the periodic stall, my 2017 has performed flawlessly. Now at 49,000 miles and one recall for the blower fan, no issues. I get 19 mpg around town and up to 23.4 mpg on the highway doing 65. Average around 21 mpg. The dash numbers and mileage check at fillups always come with 0.1 mpg of each other. I use Chevron Techron Regular fuel.

 

Has @OVTune fixed this yet? Mine 2016 off road does it with tc off and ect off. Only noticed between 1-2 on heavy/full throttle.
