Think I could wire this setup to the useless Qi switch?

Perhaps, but unlikely. My guess is that switch is a simple SPST (power cut).

I'm sure you could. I didn't look at the schematic but a switch is a switch. Any SPST switch would work. All you need to do is switch 12 volts.

DPDT switch. I just realized that I have been thinking about this the wrong way. With a DPDT switch - I shouldn't need the 'on anytime' switch for the backup camera. I can wire it into the DPDT switch. Then, I can have on/off/on - up/mid/down - where up is front camera / mid is off / and down is rear camera.

I'll only need one switch for all functions. I'll still have a spot for something else. :)

Now to find the size of the opening for the switch on the right side (next to ETC).

    All,

    FYI. IMO

The dpdt switch with nice appearance, illuminated and easy installation (drilled a round hole).

    Dimension in millimeter

I am going to order blue and white switches with 24 v, 3 position to test with.

You can selected 12 vdc just for camera. I am planning for accessories power in the near future design and also for anything . So > 12 vdc is universal application.

Slowboater, (i'm clueless about wiring things like this) your statement seems to contradict what Hoangde stated. I like your idea, but it doesn't seem possible with the original plus the addon cable, am I missing something? are you modding the original cable?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

You can buy from Aliexpress. I saw those switches a while back and was planning to buy. Did some research on Aliexpress and reading all the complaints came down to Buyer Beware.

Has anyone buy and have good experience from Aliexpress

    Here is a good alternative:

    Hey Kevin:

I need to sit down and write out a brief diagram - then I'll know what I can do. I can't figure this stuff out without a simple idagram.

I won't get to it for a couple of weeks.

But, I'll run the diagram past the OP and then share with everyone.
