Remember where you found the 4 ch processor for $25? Cheapest I've found is $40 on eBay. Cheers!

Looked through all but the last couple pages on this thread...

For anyone running the front camera or a separate auxiliary camera (trailer/side), will the Rear View camera override the A/V source when you put the vehicle in reverse?

I'm planning on running a multiplexer with a front camera, trailer camera, and smartphone mirroring unit into the A/V cable. Hoping there is a way to NOT have the OEM backup camera override the trailer camera when in AV mode.

    Cheers, T

Keep in mind that aliexpress.com is another option. You can get lower price but longer time for delivery to your door steps.

2nd gen here. I use my truck for giving guided hog hunts. People sit on the flatbed on bus seats and use thermal scopes. I am communicated with FLIR to have a thermal camera system install on truck roof. Will these cables work so I can have the radio screen display what the thermal camera sees?

These cables design and build according to Toyota Head Unit pin out schematic since late 2013. Until this date, pin out still remain unchanged.
Personally installed HAI cable into a friend 2014 Tacoma truck back in November and still doing fine. See this youtube how to removed 2014 Tacoma Head Unit
You will have no issue at all with HAI cable Harness and Forward looking infrared (FLIR) cameras image displays on Head Unit.
    regards,

Just hooked up the front camera today. Works great!

Only issue is the image is mirrored. Not sure if theres a way for me to flip it somehow. Or maybe I have to get a new cam.

Just a thought for your R&D. It would be pretty awesome to automatically display the front cam at a certain speed. Less than 5mph. Had my old car set up that way and it was awesome. Not sure if its possible. Anyways just a thought.

Thanks for all the help. Truly awesome setup.

    Nice done.
You must get a non mirrored cam, or search for one in ebay. I can program a PIC to do what you described.... just monitor speed line then trigger cam signal...
No needed for that option and so market.

    Anyway, congratulation. Enjoy new option....
Btw, I just got home surveillance camera with 1080 hd, connected to head unit without any issue. Look ugly though. Just toying

With this setup will the standard reverse camera override the AV signal?

Standard reverse takes precedence over others. Assuming you are at a/v signal, as soon as anytime camera switch is pressed or reverse gear kicked in then HU will changes to reverse video.

I'm running the dual switch set up now, but patiently awaiting this diagram to free up some space.

I'll take one of the HAI cables. To clarify, it's either JUST the HAI cable for front camera (using AV to activate), or BOTH the HAI/Add-on (where camera would be on a switch, and AV would be for smartphone mirroring) correct?

You are corrected. Allow me to clarify some detail:
    1. HAI cable harness utilized A/V menu to input Front camera signal or Media player signal or Smart Phone Mirroring.
    2. Add-On cable (required HAI cable harness) tapped into Rear Camera Line to input Front Camera signal. User will needed a switch (DPDT or SPDT ...details on these switches choice below) to switch between Front or Rear Camera. The Add-On cable have advantage over HAI cable for Front Camera is music (AM/FM/XM ...) still playing while user selected to Front/Rear camera.
    3. DPDT switch needed for Add-On cable when user want to turn on Front Camera power only when switch selected Front Camera in Add-On cable.
    4. SPDT switch needed for Add-On cable when user only want to select either front or rear camera. No front camera power control from SPDT switch.
    Best regards,

I just picked up my mail - so now I have both cables. I haven't taken the dash apart yet - but I thought these 2 cables connected to each other. I guess I was wrong? I'll have to draw out where everything goes.

Can you provide a simple diagram for me? I've got a DPDT switch. I plan to leave the 'override' switch on all the time. I bought a front camera (license plate surround) that I'll be wiring up.
