Or, you could be one of the lucky 3rd gen guys that have a problem with your VSC after lifting. In that case, it's not 100% that the VSC cal will work anyway. I guess it's the chance you take when lifting and putting bigger tires on your new truck.

I wonder if the inclinometer is tied into any of the stability stuff or it's just for fun. I wonder if it'll read different/incorrectly if you lift and level the front. Nobody has mentioned it yet though.

Try calling Island Brake and Alignment. If anyone would be up to date Derrick would.

Brooks, none of the shops want to do his alignment because he is asking then to do the VSC calibration also. That is something you have to do yourself or take it to the dealership.

@Vanguard It's the same thing as a 2nd gen and I don't believe anyone of us has ever needed it or asked the alignment shop to do it.

@Vanguard A VSC calibration is suggested even on a 2nd gen after changes in alignment. Nobody alignment shop does it for 2nd gens so why would they start for 3rd gens. If we went by the book, we would be asking alll the alignment shops just like artesho.

@Vanguard All artesho is doing by asking them to do this is limiting the shops that will align his truck. They ain't going to start now because of one customer asking for this.

I didn't know that this calibration was required before I went to the shop. It was the technician that brought it up and said he doesn't want to perform the alignment due to liabilities. The way it was explained to me sounded like it was required so I called other shops to see if they could do it.

I would suggest going to a reputable shop that aligns a lot of lifted trucks for recon and don't bring that up beforehand. Sounds like that shop didn't want to align a lifted truck. Island Brake and Alignment, and Scotty's both are pretty good shops. If you don't have issues with your vsc now, pre-alignment, I doubt you will have an issue with it after. Issues you would have now would be traction control kicking in on turns and lights on your dash that shouldn't be on.

I believe what he's trying to do is get the zero point calibration of the yaw rate sensor and deceleration sensor. Its supposed to be done after front end alignment or lifting the vehicle.
Don't worry about it, I even went to the dealer and they couldn't even do it.
VSC may engage occasionally in turns, happened to me a couple times, nothing to really worry about. Just don't panic and crash your own truck.

Mine was done at island brake and alignment no problem. However, I didn't know this was an issue until yesterday. I was on the onramp from pali to H1 east and the vsc kicked in. Thought it was tires rubbing at first but noticed the light flashing. I guess I'll try the dealer and see if a recalibration works.

That's probably it. The shop probably didn't wanna deal with a lifted vehicle. I opted for Firestone for the lifetime cuz I'll probably be switching suspension out at least a couple more times but I think I'm just gonna have to go to a reputable shop like @deeezy said.
