3rd Gen Tacoma Key Fob - New - $80 - SOLD

Simply needs programming - includes key which would need to be cut. Sells for $160 all over the interwebz - save some coin!

Is programming only done by dealer?

 

Not sure - I never got around to getting it done. I've heard both dealer and independent locksmiths can handle the process.

 

You can do it yourself with Windows 7 and cord from eBay, Amazon. Probably $20 for everything. Then just get the key cut. Lots of tips in the Lexus credit card mod thread.

 

@Istan is correct. If it is brand new and never programmed to a truck it's pretty simple to add it using Techstream. If it's not brand new and has been previously programmed it's still possible, but more complicated since you need to do a smartkey reset and reprogram all your fobs to the truck. BTW you can, for free, set up Windows 7 as a virtual machine using VirtualBox. Microsoft even has downloads/instructions on it.

 

Thanks for the input guys... So yes, you can easily program this fob to your Tacoma - it's never been programmed and is new.

 

Somebody snag this - don't get locked out! This key fob has never been in a toilet or near ANY cabbage.
